Umnum Jumbo Cigar - 1 Single (End of Line)
Date Added: Monday 21 March, 2022
What a really nice smoke this was. Woody cedar and maple, straw and fine leather. Consistent from start to finish, no great flavour profile changes, but thats not a problem. This is a great smoke any time of day, and for me I will definitely be ordering more than one next month.

Trinidad Reyes Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 21 March, 2022
A lovely little cigar , lasted a good 30ish minutes! A lighter body than most , mostly creamy notes with hints of Marzipan coming in nearer to the back end. An ever so slight nicotine kick closer to the end but does not impact the enjoyment of this cigar even for an extreme lightweight such as myself!

Plasencia Reserva Original Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 20 March, 2022
With a slight oily wrapper and delicious vanilla hit on the cold draw, this cigar had promises of luxurious and complex flavours. I found this not to be the case, with the first third being overwhelmed by strong black pepper and leather, and the whole cigar having a generic woodiness that only really developed into a slight cedar note towards the very end. I had two very brief hints of coffee in the final third and I couldnt detect any of the sweetness or vanilla hints I got on the cold draw at all. What it did have in abundance was a consistent smooth smoke that was quite luxurious and the construction and burn was impeccable only requiring a one touch up to realign where the band had been (I have a theory that these huge bands are causing distortion due to imperfect humidification). Overall I wasnt disappointed by this cigar, I suppose I was just expecting a bit more in the way of flavour complexity and this was a bit two dimensional. If you enjoy a very strong wood flavour in your smoke you should give this one a try, it might be what you are looking for.

Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto Cigar - 1 Single

Two unfortunate experiences with these. The first one I tried, the wrapper was crisp, dry and just crumbled and unravelled from the shoulder to the band.. It was also virtually impossible to light, with just a block of black charcoal instead of ash at the business end. Continued attempts to light it resulted in a trumpet-shaped expansion on one side of the cigar foot, and the wreckage was impossible to smoke.. The second one I tried seemed to be burning, but with considerable difficulty and a tight draw. No ash was visible, and the wrapper and binder stayed mostly intact. When the cigar went out, I tried scraping away at the black carbon at the foot and found it went down the centre of the cigar for about an inch and a half, so the centre of the filler had obviously burnt down inside the cigar shell. No ash anywhere, just hard black charcoal. Although I am new to cigar smoking, I have now smoked several different brands in different shapes and sizes, and have not had any problems with lighting or smoking any of them, so I dont think my lighting or smoking technique was at fault.
