Drew Estate Acid Kuba Kuba Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 10 July, 2018
Having tried the smaller atom several months back and adored its madness I decided to purchase one of these as part of my holiday cigar order. They smell amazing same hippy bong shop smell you get with the atom. The initial sweetness of the cap / wrapper on the lips wasnt as brash as the atom and the whole cigar felt a little more refined and mellow compared to its smaller counterpart. Very enjoyable smoke great construction, draw and burn was perfect. Overall I prefer the Atom for the full force experience and masses of smoke but this definitely has a home in my humidor, it gently imparts its aroma on other less exciting sticks like its trying to encourage them to loosen up and have some fun. Currently my favourite brand.

Fonseca KDT Cadetes Cigar - Box of 25

The most satisfying cigar I have ever had - tantalising complex flavours (earthy, coffee/chocolatety, leathery, gitanes, spicy), moist and creamy, smooth on the throat. Dont need to take out a mortgage to smoke them

first 1/3 was mild, nice and smooth. Spicy kick to the 2/3. 3/3 SPICY BOI! Well built, Only enjoyed more as it progressed. Paired well with my chianti ;) 10/10 will buy again! Smooth finish not at all harsh or stanky. Perfect example of why i enjoy cigars.

H. Upmann Half Corona Cigar - 1 Single

I had to get this after reading all the positive reviews, but this cigar is definitely not for me. The build quality was great and the cigar itself was very attractive. It lit and burned well also. However, the taste was very dry and bitter, and it definitely didnt feel like a light cigar. My living room stank of this not-so-pleasant smell for 3-4 days when normally the smell clears within 48 hours. The draw was far too easy for me, like sucking through a straw. Im no cigar expert but this is one of my least favourite cigars by far.

The final cigar from my Jack Frost sampler, but not my first ever RyJ. Smoked this in two halves. The first half I smoked left me a bit bored and disappointed, I couldn’t really identify any flavours, was mostly just a smooth, creamy smoke. Not unpleasant by any means, just somewhat uneventful. However the second half, the following day, was a delight :S really rich, spicy and woody... I’ve smoked a dozen or so Cubans now and, so far, maybe it’s just me but, unless it’s an astonishing cigar, the spicy, earthy flavours never kick in until about halfway down the cigar. This one was typical of that along with the Jose L Piedra Cazadores cigar which also left me cold until the halfway mark, and then turned beautiful! I’ve never aged a cigar as I’m yet to purchase a humidor so perhaps with age flavours develop and present immediately on lighting up the cigar, I don’t know... This was a good cigar but I will sample other Cuban brands before returning to RyJ, I think they’re maybe a touch over-hyped. I find Montecristo’s richer in flavour and complexity.
