Packaging: Bundle of 25 Cigars

The Latin Regius denotes of a ‘King’. We present you a regal smoking experience: to enjoy a hand-made King of Cigars.

Gaius Petronius Arbiter (AD27) was a Roman writer and courtier for Emperor Nero who devoted himself to a life of pleasure. Yet far from being an ordinary, vulgar profligate, he became known as an accomplished voluptuary.

Showing capacity for outrageous indulgence, he was looked upon by Nero to be the absolute authority on questions of taste (arbiter elegantiae), especially with the science of alchemy.

In his memory the superb brand of cigars ‘Regius’ was created. The alchemy of cultivating and blending the finest aged tobacco to achieve the best possible taste, an even burning quality and elegant aromas.

We invite you to be arbiter elegantiae, the judge of elegance, of the beautifully hand crafted and flavoursome creations that are Regius Cigars.

Tasting Notes

This cigar has a light medium body. A charming accompaniment to the taste of coffee, it has a sweet aroma and creamy texture.

I got this to see what the regius smokes were like as they seemed like great value but I would rather spend more on quality and smoke less than buy king Edwards! I often see posts about smoke time saying they got 30 mins on a cigar that I get an hour on and then complain about the taste being bland etc. This cigar, like most cigars, rewards patience. If you are taking a hearty full draw and don’t leave time for the cherry to cool down, the difference is like night and day. Now I know the majority of people reading this will say ‘well, duh!’, but the reason I mention it is the smoke times on this site given by cgars is often way too low. Davidoff do it too on their materials, so on the off chance you are here to say this was disappointing, buy another and smoke it slowly. It should last an hour or more, that is when the flavours come out. If you rush it, the bitter tastes cloud the great subtle flavours. For the price, this is a phenomenal cigar. Only the fuente stick of the same size compares and that one is £2 more. This is the price of a crappy petrol station henri winterman and it is the quality of something over twice the price. I shall be loading my humidor up with regius. Well done regius.

My first impressions of the Regius corona cigar is a well constructed cigar with a tight roll. A little niggle about the cap, it was too small! After cutting the rest of the cap peeled away. After lighting I noticed the draw was loose and supplied a sufficient amount of smoke. The taste in the first third was of a sweet nutty flavour, slightly peppery which was pleasant. The second third was of woody notes. Half way through it started to side burn which I had to touch up with a lighter which led to the first ash fall, closer inspection it came apparent that there was a bit of an air gap which explained the side burn, easily corrected and a consistent smoke afterwards. The final third earthy notes came through with a slight sweetness with two more ash falls. Overall this was a subtle smoke with a good burn throughout with the one issue, wasnt over powering in the slightest. Id definitely buy this cigar again for my humidor especially for the price.

A disappointing cigar. Evenly burned but bitter tasting - at least for the first three quarters. Finally in the last quarter some decent nutty flavour. But alas, too little, too late.

If this cigar was a colour it would be beige. I tried the Regis Corona as an alternative to the Inka Blue which I love. On the positive side it was well constructed, burned evenly if a little quickly. However it tasted of nothing of note. Bitter, a little harsh and just bland. I have some more and will revisit and re-review if the others show any improvement. Not a good first impression.
