Ramon Allones is one of the big names in the history of Habanos. Founded in 1837, it is one of the oldest brands still in production.

A Galician by birth Ramon Allones was the first cigar manufacturer to pack his Habanos in boxes decorated with labels and stamped with his brand's emblem. He was the pioneer of the packaging tradition that we know today.

All the sizes are filled with a blend of filler and binder tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo zone, characterised by their intense and complex taste. Amongst the best known sizes are the Gigantes and the Specially Selected.

Tasting Notes

Very creamy, toffee or caramel flavors erupt into a complex taste which cannot be beaten by any other minuto! Plenty of body and beautifully constructed, perfect with your morning coffee.

"...Topped with a flat head and three-seam cap, this little cigar has a notably firm draw. Earthy and leathery in character, the bold smoke also offers a bit of nutmeg and black pepper..."

First look at this cigar and I thought that it would be strong as the wrapper was quite darker than most cigars I smoke but when it came to actually smoking it I was pleasantly surprised. The taste is quite chocolatey with leather and coffee also noticeable – ‘Rich’ would be a word to accurately describe it. The only problem was my stick was very tightly made so it caused some draw problems but apart from that it was great.

Not as strong as expected, which suits me. Excellent if medium strong and quite nutty is your taste.

What can I say? top notch little cigar, burns nicely, very aromatic and not to stuffy or overwhelming, nice tasting on the palette. Great smoke. I enjoyed this particular cigar with a nice Brandy, brings out the taste more, can I also recommend a nice Spanish or Chilean red wine to complement if the Brandy is not to your liking. written by Stefan
