Punch is one of the very oldest Habano brands. Don Manuel Lopez of Juan Valle & Co  founded it in the mid 19th century with an eye to the booming British market where a humorous magazine of the same name was much in vogue.

A contented Mr Punch, the clown who personified the magazine, is still featured in every box, cigar in hand, and surrounded by 19th Century images of cigar making that remain virtually unchanged over a century and a half later.

In 1931 the Punch became associated with Hoyo de Monterrey and the two brands have been made in the same factory ever since. Today the factory is La Corona.

Punch's distinct medium flavour created with a blend of filler and binder tobaccos from Vuelta Abajo is available in a wide variety of sizes which are all long filler and totally hand made.

Tasting Notes

Smooth and strong with lots of creamy vanilla wood flavor. Perfect draw with lots of smoke, and the burn was great. Delightful, highly recommended cigar.

"...Expertly rolled and topped with a three-seam cap, the smoke from this cigar is floral and woody, buttressed by pleasing notes of almond and butterscotch..."

Well I enjoyed this cigar and would recommend it as a box buy it lasted me over an hour so 40 mins seems rather short as one review has it. I cannot say that I found any vanilla flavour at all just good tobacco taste with no bad taste after effect , but then I'm just an ordinary lover of cigars perhaps if I sat on the wall where I have my 'vanilla smelling shrubs' I might then. This is a good all round cigar an money well spent.

I expected more of a kick from this one. Once I realized it wasnt coming, I enjoyed a fine cedary smoke you could give to just about anybody. Beginners will find good flavor in a manageable strength, and more discerning palates will enjoy the subtleties of the blend. written by JM USA

Okay, so this may not be the afficianados choice, but I love this cigar. If you do not have the time for the Punch Churchill, this is a good substitute, and doesnt lag far behind on flavor or smoothness. written by SLH

Spicy and toasty medium to full bodied corona gorda. Dark, shiny wrappers with slightly firm, but not tight draw. Worthy of box purchase. written by The Mantis

This can be described as a very good all-rounder. A well defined aroma with leather and cedar flavours. Burns well and even. Formidable after a celebration lunch or late evening meal. written by Mihai
