PLASENCIA

Plasencia Cigars, the leading producer of premium cigars and the largest producer of tobacco in Central America, was awarded 1st place in a consumer cigar blind tasting held by Manuel’s, one of the finest and most renowned cigar shops in Zürich, Switzerland. The award was conferred for its Alma del Campo Tribu cigar, one of the company's first brand name cigars to be introduced to the market.

Plasencias goal is to use the best leaves of aged tobacco exclusively in their cigars leaving them in the hands of the best collaborators in the fields and artists of the factories.

Plasencia Alme del Fuego radiates passion and highlights the strong character of the volcanic soil that stems from the Ometepe Island. Sun-grown wrappers from the fields of Jalapa Valley were carefully selected, complementing the cigar with a sweet character

Tasting Notes

The cigar offers a hint of of spice, complemented by savoury notes of tangerine, roasted cashews and guava wood.

Well constructed, nice even burn producing a strong 2 inch ash. Draw and smoke output was good, flavour a little spicy but quite mild. No re-lights or touch ups required.


As a fan of Plasencia i had high hopes for this blend but i found it unsatisfying and relatively bland... at least when compared to other cigars made by Plasencia. Construction and draw are top notch as i expected... though it burns notably fast.


My favourite Plasencia of the four different types Ive tried so far. Beautiful looking with a dark oily wrapper and nicely boxed pressed. Really lovely flavours - sweet and nutty. Burned perfectly and slowly. I really didnt want this one to end. I might try a box of these next.


It struggled to stay lit for the first quarter although no relight was required. To be honest I was a little nonplussed at first because there was not much going for it in terms of taste or flavour, but the more I smoked the more the cigar developed and the last third was an absolute joy. After an hour and fifteen minutes and with just a small stub remaining I did not want it to finish. Despite the initial difficulties and lacklustre performance at the start, overall this is rather a nice cigar and I would certainly consider further purchases.


Extremely well made, flavour varies between chocolate and spice, couldnt flaw the cigar 5*

