PERDOMO

Perdomo Cigars are a family owned & operated company headquartered in Miami, Florida with agricultural and manufacturing facilities in Estelí, Nicaragua.

As a vertically integrated cigar manufacturer they control every process, from their agricultural operations in the fertile valleys of the Esteli, Condega and famed Jalapa regions in Nicaragua to their distribution centre in Miami.

Each and every department is fully committed to making sure quality is their top priority & this commitment was recognised when the Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro Epicure was named Cigar of the Year 2021 by Cigar Journal.

10TH ANNIVERSARY CONNECTICUT - Awarded Best Brand of Nicaragua in 2018 by Cigar Journal!

The Reserve 10th Anniversary Connecticut is blended using tobaccos that have been carefully hand selected and aged for a minimum of six years. The Reserve 10th Anniversary Connecticut was where the technique of bourbon barrel aging wrapper tobaccos started for Perdomo. This special aging process was a Perdomo family secret for years and Nicholas Perdomo Sr aptly named the bourbon barrel aged Connecticut wrapper, the ‘champagne’ of wrappers.

Tasting Notes

The beautiful, butterscotch coloured Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper imparts sweet hints of cream and honey. The Cuban-seed Nicaraguan binder and filler leaves offer a rich spiciness with oaky undertones. The combination of the wrapper, binder, and fillers in this blend offers elegant flavours with rich complex aromas and a silky, smooth finish.

This cigar took me almost 2 hours to smoke to the end. Not a bad smoke but not in my top 10. I had no issues bar once needing a touch up due to an uneven burn down one side. Flavour wise it was fine, about medium on the spice side.

Had a couple of these sat in the humidor for a few months and given overwhelmingly positive reviews was looking forward to this. A very disappointing experience - needed multiple touching ups- uneven burn line, decent ash and smoke output. First retrohale burnt like smelling salts, ammoniacal. Unpleasant. Creamy smoke but very one dimensional. At times tasted like cigarettes, a constant bitter/cayenne pepper burn to finish which faded to background as progressed, mild initially moving to moderste but strong nicotine hit - little in way of transitions. Hope the sungrown Robusto I?ve also got will be better - overall one of the poorest cigars I?ve smoked
