If there is one particularly famous cigar factory in Havana, it is Partagas. The factory was opened in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagas and it has been making the cigars that bear his name ever since.

A Partagas is immediately recognisable by its deep, earthly flavour. The character of its blend springs from a selection of filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone and chosen for their unmistakable richness of flavour and aroma.

The best known of all Partagas is the Serie D No. 4, the robusto size that formed part of the legendary Partagas alphabet series that dates back to the 1930's. In 2005 a Piramide, the Partagas Serie P No. 2, was added to the range, which fast became a cigar of choice amongst lovers of full flavoured Habanos. In 2011 the Serie D No. 5 and the heavy ring gauge Serie E No. 2 extended the alphabet series once again.

Wow!! I smoked a full box of these in two weeks while fishing in Canada. Not because it was the only smoke I had but simply because each cigar caught my curiosity and I couldn't quite. Very complex and rich smoke that will leave you with a smile or a spinning head depending on what you have in your stomach. The burn and draw is perfect and you can smoke them till they burn your fingers. It takes three brushings of your teeth to clear the flavor!!! Two boxes are resting in my humidor and it will be a great test of my willpower to keep them there!!! written by dmartelle

The D4 is ABSOLUTELY the best robusto in the world. Cohiba is a little stronger, but the consistency in taste of this cigar is unmatched!!! Other than the Cohiba Esplendido...the D4 RULES... written by JW

Some people love them some people find them oppressive and rough. They are pretty strong and spicy; personally I love this, the flavours are very creamy, earthy and some hints of nuttyness and cocoa with plenty of pepper and spice. Delicious, one of my faves. ^_^ written by A. Dyer
