Oliva Serie V Belicoso Cigar - Box of 24

For a relatively inexperienced cigar smoker this beautiful offering from Oliva is hard to fault. It is a striking looking cigar, dark and rich, with that fabulous oversized band. Toasts and lights with ease. The draw is absolutely perfect and the flavours are deep and complex. Mine started off fairly mild but ramped up in strength and depth of flavour in the second third. Construction was excellent, holding ash until the band with ease (and then it only dropped because of my own lack of care). The rest held until I was in danger of charring my finger tips, trying to enjoy every millimetre. The burn line was a little uneven, but never enough to need correcting. I am not qualified to give taste notes, but for me there was leather and chocolate with little hint of spice (which increased in the final third). Zero bitterness and very little pepper. Smooth, rich and creamy, with a delicate sweetness on the inhale. I just wish it had a slower burn in order that I could have enjoy it for longer. Chosen as an indulgent Fathers Day treat, enjoyed after a roast beef dinner, outside with a rum ... heavenly. I just wish I had order more than one. Oliva are a great Nicaraguan cigar(my favourite) and this Oliva V Belicosos is on my top 3 New World Smokes. I’ve smoked tens of these and surprisingly I have never written a review before. Recently these beauties was on Cigar Aficionados top cigars of 2017 and not surprisingly so. Generally a great burn with only a few minor unevenness, which often straightens self out. The flavours are delicious full off sweetness, pairs well with a coffee after a meal I find... being a full body hits you with a punch feeling relaxed. Just what is needed after a hearty meal. I can’t express more with all the other reviews on how of a cracker this cigar is. Looking for a 45 minute smoke here’s a recommendation!

First time I've tried some from Olivia. This cigar was very complex and strong with a chocolate brown oily wrapper. Started off slow and not much to taste but then the pepper kicked in along with the smooth chocolate flavours and mellowed out towards the last third with some creaminess. Make sure you have something to eat before hand. It gave me abit of a light head. I enjoyed this cigar very much but it wasn't for me. If you like medium to full cigars then this is for you.

A lovely cigar and I can safely say I shall be adding this to my top 10 list. Lots of sweetness with chocolate and coffee flavours along with some spiciness. Very creamy too. Simply exquisite.

In my 20s and this was my first big cigar, having tried a couple cigarillos before. On arrival I kept it at 70% humidity in a humidor bag for 2 weeks. Quality: Dark oily wrapper. Really smooth smoke, white ash that never fell off. Razor sharp burn until it got 2/3 done, when a bad wiggle appeared and it went out (ash related?), but was nearly ready to finish then anyway. Lasted over an hour outside. Flavour: Nice rich tobacco flavours. I think I could taste coffee/chocolate (yeah i'm new). Definitely tasted leathery as it got to the halfway point down. Drink with cognac and coke helped clear the occasional bite at back of throat. Strength: Could be a bit strong in nicotine for new people (like myself). I had several meals before and shared this, and I still got a big nicotine rush for 5-10 mins. Although I didn't feel unwell at all. Delivery: Cgarsltd delivered in a bubble-wrap padded jiffy bag, with the cigar inside their own high quality custom card/plastic boxes to help prevent crushing damage. Got some leaflets and a humidor bag. These also came in their own individual plastic wrap. Cigars arrived at perfect humidity.

I've just recently got into smoking cigars and have been trying different brands to see what I like, wow this cigar is amazing. Firstly the construction was impeccable. Beautiful dark chocolate oily wrapper with a stunning band wrapped around it, I took a good few mins admiring it's beauty and it's aroma. The light and first draw was a delight with a pleasent coco coffee hit and lots of lovely smelling smoke. First 1/3 was gorgeously smooth with some hints of nuts and dark coca beans. 2/3 I got my first big nicotine hit and the smoke got even smoother, the nutty taste has submerged and I was greeted with a more ntense coco coffee leathery taste. 3/3 wow this cigar packs a punch, much the same as the 2/3 but much stronger, I smoked this until I couldn't hold it anymore and boy did this cigar knock me for six, beng still a novice to cigar smoking and haven't not eaten, I felt what I can only describe as cigar drunk. I will definitely eat before smoking one of these again and maybe less coffee. Overall a beautiful cigar in taste, construction and smoke, can't recommend it enough, I will most certainly be getting more.
