MONTECRISTO

Montecristo is the best known and probably the most appreciated brand of Havanas throughout the world. It forms the benchmark for many Havana smokers against which other brands are judged.

The name comes from Alexandre Dumas’ famous novel ‘The Count of Montecristo’, which was a firm favourite when read to the Torcedores (cigar rollers) at the factory where it was founded in 1935.

The original Montecristo range of sizes was composed of a narrow assortment numbered from 1 to 5. Today it consists of a wide variety of vitolas to cover every level of the cigar enthusiast’s needs.

Whether it is within the classic medium-to-full line, the lighter Open Series or the newer, more powerful, Linea 1935, Montecristo’s perfectly balanced blends are all created exclusively with selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone, home of the finest tobaccos in the world.

NO. 3

Another of the original Montecristos; this one a Corona. From start to finish it maintains the true taste of this brand.

Tasting Notes

A mild bitter cocoa and spicy taste, great aroma. Nice, even burn, consistently good quality. A Havana that will never let you down.

92 / 100

"The smoke from this corona has a pleasant, easygoing character to it, leaving impressions of almond and butter for a praline-like effect and a creamy finish. It has an open draw and slightly slanted burn..."

What a joy to smoke! Lovely sunny day today so decided to take advantage. Beautiful flavours of cedar and creamy spice with a little sweetness on the retrohale. Construction was perfect. Guillotine cut and draw firm and elastic. Smoked over 1hr 20 down to the last inch. Lovely smoke output and paired nicely with a glass of coke, however a touch of rum certainly wouldn't go amiss!

Enjoyed this cigar very much. Lovely dark oily wrapper and great draw. Flavours very pleasant with a touch of sweetness, will be buying again

Very disappointed, wrapper began to unwind very quickly after lighting, cigar tasted great but spent most of the time wondering if it was going to completely fall apart.

Very poor. Wrapper split after the first third and the cigar began to expand as I smoked it down. After the second third the wrapper almost entirely fell off held only by the cap.

Good draw with a bit of resistance. Starts off spicy / peppery. This then settles into a creamy like flavour with notes of mainly vanilla and cocae.
