Description

A bottle of Longrow Red 15 Year Old Limited Edition Peated Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled a cask strength of 51.4% ABV.

This was matured for 11 years in bourbon barrels, followed by four years in refill Pinot Noir barriques from winemaker Grant Taylor's Valli vineyards in Central Otago, New Zealand. The bottling code indicates this was bottled in 2022.

Longrow is the name given to heavily peated whiskies produced at Springbank distillery.

This is one of 9400 bottles.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Creamy and fruity on the nose, with notes of custard, bramble jelly, red apples and cherries. The Longrow character presents itself in smoky embers, along with hints of toffee and butterscotch.

Palate: The smokiness continues on the palate and tannin favours develop, balanced with sweet confectionary, cranberry and raspberry in this smooth, delicate malt.

Finish: As you would expect smoky characteristic work beautifully with red fruit flavours imparted from the pinot noir barrique maturation.
