Meaning 'Flower of the Antilles', the Flor de las Antillas represents Cuba,

Traditionally focused on more full-bodied cigars,
Flor de las Antillas ventures into the company's untapped niche of a true medium-bodied experience.

One of my faves! If I had the money I'd buy them by the truck load and age as they are sweet, creamy & smooth. Occasional bitter note creeps in but just another month resting would solve that I'm guessing. Always very good construction, worth the money in my opinion. I think I'm the opposite from Thomas, started with cubans and quickly forgot about them - for me a really mellow and smooth cigar is vastly important... cubans are just too strong for me sadly. But I do still love my Punch Coronations... actually have to buy some soon! The band is a thing of beauty, as is the little red sleeve at the foot of these cigars - very nice attention to detail!

Great start, creamy, nutty and sweet with that distinct Nicaraguan taste. Half way it got bitter, the draw was very loose and I think it caused the cigar to burn too hot. I bit down on the head to restrict the airflow which helped keep the flavour. It was pleasant but nothing really special. Would I buy another? No, for me non Cubans are always missing that tangy cuban taste, and without it, a cigar just doesn't satisfy me the same way. For £12/13 you can get diplomaticos and bolivar lonsdales, bolivar Royal corona, Ramon specially selected, Trinidad coloniales, Vegas robaina familiares, the list goes on... So to summarise, nice, but not nice enough to choose it over Cubans in the same price range. If you are bored of Cubans and want something different, it's worth a try.

I have now purchased 7 of the My Father Flor De Las Antillas, Robusto. I Am fairly new to Cigar smoking but it is fast becoming my favourite pastime. I have found that so far my Best smoke was the Davidoff Magnificos, however in very close second is the FDL Antillas. The construction of this cigar is usually perfection, however the red band at the end of the Cigar, as seen in the photo above, has twice been fastened a little to tightly and has squeesed the wrapper for the first 15mm. This, however, does not negativly affect the cigars performance. The burn on this cigar has been fantastic every time i have smoked one. At the start you get hit with a beautifully thick, smooth, cool smoke that is very pleasant. I get woody (Usually Cedar) and nutty flavours from this cigar and have been very impressed with it every time i have invested the time to smoke one.
