COSMETIC DEFECT - Paul John Peated Select Cask Indian Single Malt Whisky - 55.5% 70cl

A peated edition from the Goa's, Paul John range.

This expression was produced using peat which was imported in from Scotland and matured using ex-bourbon barrels before being bottled at cask strength - 55.5% ABV.

This Paul John expression has been non-chill filtered meaning the whisky retains all natural colouring, aromas and taste making for a stunning whisky.

The brand first arrived in the UK in 2012 and continues to go from strength to strength with this whisky being a prime example of the stunning whisky, distilleries in India are producing.

Nose: Light peat wafts in from the sweet grist handles. Oak-induced dates with walnut cake.

Taste: The smoke is not slow coming forward, acting as a cushion to the multi layers of crisp sugars, muscovado- and Demerera-type which follow. A winter warming helping of spice radiates from the developing hickory and Dominican-style cocoa.

Finish: A bitter marmalade edge.
