Charatan cigars have a long British heritage dating back to 1863, when Frederick Charatan opened his tobacco shop in Mansell Street, London. The modern Charatan range continues that legacy with accessible, well-made cigars designed for everyday enjoyment.

The Charatan Original Robusto is produced at Joya de Nicaragua, the country's oldest cigar factory. The blend uses Seco, Ligero and Volado filler leaves with an Indonesian Besuki binder and shade grown Java wrapper, creating a smooth and approachable smoke.

This Robusto format is a popular choice for smokers looking for a balanced New World cigar with reliable construction, easy draw and good value.

Received this a mystery cigar for £10 with an order I put through on line. And as a cheaper stick was a ok smoke. Was a mellow light smoke with a good burn time and only needed to relight once, probably more down to me talking more than anything. I found the end to be little ashey but overall was a good smoke.

As with many others, this was my mystery cigar in my July order. I've never tried a Charatan before so as always, I was pleased to be trying something new. First off, cutting it caused the wrapper to come adrift. I was using a cheap cutter rather than my usual Cigarism double blade, which may have been a factor but having seen the other reviews, I do wonder. The taste was actually very pleasant, and I really enjoyed this aspect of the cigar. However, the aforementioned wrapper issue was joined by a very uneven burn throughout, and then in the final third it pretty much fell apart - see photos. I'm torn between a two and three, as the taste was genuinely excellent, but cigars that fall apart aren't much use to anyone. Sorry Charatan, it has to be a two.

Very light cigar in the first half, smoked well and really nice flavours of woods and spices. It got more into the mild area as I got down it with some pepper and herbs coming in towards the finish. The wrapped did crack but was still very smokeable. I got this as a mystery cigar but would buy again if the price is closer to the £13 - £14 mark

Very light cigar with mild earthy and nut undertones, with a little bit of peppery spice the further through it you get. the wrapper was dry and had bad cracking isssues.

Received one of these as a mystery cigar purchase I bought along with some Oliva samples. Although it didn't quite compare to the Olivas it was an enjoyable smoke, it was good value for the cost of the mystery cigar and a fun addition to take part in at the end of your shopping cart. The cigar was pretty mild and provided a mellow even burn that lasted about 40 minutes.
