BOLIVAR

Simon Bolivar was one of the great historic figures of the 19th Century who liberated much of South America from Spanish rule.

The Bolivar brand was created in 1902 and is based today in the Partagas factory which is in the heart of Havana.

It is perhaps not surprising that a Habano named after such a powerful figure is blended to match his might. Bolivar is among the strongest, most full bodied of all Habanos. It boasts an unrivalled richness of flavour in its blend of Vuelta Abajo zone filler and binder tobacco that makes it one of the most sought-after marques amongst experienced smokers.

All sizes of Bolivar are ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano,’ – long filler, totally handmade. It is the brand of choice for enthusiasts who like strong flavours!

PETIT CORONA

Compare this Mareva with others and you will appreciate its richness of flavour. A powerful smoke and perhaps not for a beginner.

Tasting Notes

Surprisingly strong for a petit corona, with a very full spicy aroma. If you want a mini corona gigantes, because you are short of time this is the mareva sized cigar for you. Dark wrappers, full flavour and full strength rounded off to near perfection.

90 / 100

"Pressed and petit, this little cigar has an ample draw that loads the palate with big notes of cedar and oak complemented by touches of walnut, dried apricot and stone before an oaky, white-wine finish..."

I too was really pleased with this ciagr. I've been working my way through the merevas from the major brands and this ciagr was one of the best. A ittle light on the draw and the burn wasn't too even, but the flavours more than made up for this.

Really pleased with this as my first bolivar - was looking forward to a mereva with a bit of an extra kick and it didnt fail to dissapoint, a little to easy / light draw which had me double puff a few times talk about hick clouds of flavour! being used to a lighter smoke ( hoyo and diplomatico) for me this is definately not an everyday brand but im gonna get a few for when i want a bit extra - will now try a few larger vitolas of this brand without being scared! will not dissapoint

This cigar is Is amazing! It has gone straight into the "top-spot" of my cigar list, I would say it is medium to full flavour for my pallet but not harsh! it is smooth and easy to pick out those all important flavours. I am smoking one of these as i type this with a large glass of Rioja and is pure heaven. Dave.

Oh my God! In honesty I had not been looking forward to this smoke, expecting something heavy and unsavoury, but this has just leaped to the 'top dog' slot in my humidor. Starts off exciting and complex, burns well, no acridness or bitter flavours, and just keeps moving the goalposts with every draw. Halfway through I was grinning like a monkey and made a note to get myself a box of these at the first opportunity - this first having been bought for me by my other half. For the price, you get a smoke that knocks the spots off of pretty much anything in this size that I have tried, and I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if I can find something that tops this. Buy one now and give it a try, compliment it with a glass of Havana Club, and see what you're missing out on.
