A single cask gem from Balvenie Distillery, this 14-year-old single malt from the Collection of Curious Casks was aged in an American bourbon barrel and bottled unchill-filtered at 47.8%.

Known for pioneering cask finishes, Balvenie is also one of the few Scottish distilleries with its own coppersmith and cooperage on-site.

Official tasting notes reveal candied orange peel grounded in woody, earthy flavors with roasted malt and deep vanilla oakiness.

This bottle of Balvenie 2009 14 Year Old Collection of Curious Casks Bourbon hails from the Speyside region of Scotland.

 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Velvety sweetness, rich toffee and smouldering oak reveal crisp citrus aromas and ever flowing honey musk.

Palate: Candied orange peel is grounded in woody, earthy flavours from beautifully roasted malt and deep vanilla oakiness.

Finish: Smooth and lingering, with a hint of oak and a gentle warmth.
