ALEC BRADLEY

Alec Bradley Cigar Company dates back to 1996 and was founded by Ralph and Alan, it was their passion for cigars that encouraged them to invest their life into something they love; founding Alec Bradley Cigar Company.

In 1998 they decided to create their first cigar together, Occidental Reserve. The response proved that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and that pushed them to continue to develop cigars that we and others have been excited to smoke.

Alec Bradley have a goal: to give you, the cigar smoker, an unforgettable experience.

PRENSADO

Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill cigars have the distinction of a 96 score and 1st place in Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 Cigars of 2011.

This long, extra full-bodied, box-pressed cigar is a dreamboat brimming with dark, spicy tobacco flavours and complexity. Box pressed in the true Cuban tradition. The Trojes Corojo wrapper provides power and flavour. A truly classic smoke.

"Prensado means a lot to me and the Alec Bradley story. Rolled at Raices Cubanas (‘Cuban Roots’) factory, the Prensado was first created to pay homage to the Cuban traditions of cigar making rolling the filler ‘entuba-do,’ triple capping the head and box pressing the finished cigar. Blended with proprietary estate grown corojo from the Trojes region of Honduras, Prensado would eventually be named Cigar Aficionado “Cigar of the Year,” propelling Alec Bradley’s trajectory into cigar culture much quicker than I anticipated."

Delicious flavours combined with a nice slow burn, great little birthday treat!

It is an impressive cigar to hold in ones hand and provides over an hour of satisfying flavors. However, coming with the high pedigree of being 2011s best, this smoker was left a bit underwhelmed. It burnt well but the presence of peppery, woody notes carried on uninterrupted throughout the entirety of my experience never evolving into anything more nuanced. There is nothing wrong with sticking to a chosen profile and executing it well but perhaps the reputation of this particular stick somewhat ruined the joy of smoking it. Still, with its medium to high strength and grounded, strong flavors it does leave you pleasantly lightheaded and is certainly satisfying.

A lovely smoke it has to be said, this cigar looks and smells great before you even light it,the pre lit draw is woody with a slight bitterness and good mild tobacco flavours, upon first lighting the woody mild tobacco flavours are confirmed and also a slight black coffee flavour is present,it remains this way until about the half way point when the coffee disappears and a subtle peppery kick and a slight bitterness intermingle with the mild tobacco flavours, this increases in the last two inches and an earthy taste starts to overwhelm the other flavours. I disagree that this is a full bodied smoke mild/medium I'd say comparable to somewhere between a HdM and a romeo and I smoked it on an empty stomach with a cup of tea! But still very good

Excellent cigar. Treated myself to this for my birthday, along with hefty serving of vintage port, and would recommend it. For me it seemed like a very smooth smoke, without a harsh edge that even other cigars that I have enjoyed had to a degree. Although this did seem to change into the last third, and I put it out pretty quick, but totally unconcerned by this as I'm fairly sure it had hit the 2hr mark by this point. Totally deserving of a score over 90, but taking into account the price it should hover near 100, if you're looking for a long smoke and are concerned with value I haven't found anything comparable.
