A bottle of Waterford Micro Cuvée Lomhar Irish Single Malt Whisky.
This whisky is made from 11 separate distillates, augmented by the addition of a small amount of Waterford's first cuvée, Pilgrimage.
This was matured for 3 years, 5 months and 27 days and was bottled at 50% ABV on 2020.
Waterford - positioned on the banks of the River Suir, on Ireland’s sunny south-eastern coast, was originally a facility originally built by Diageo in 2004 and converted to distilling in 2015.
Their first whisky ran in January 2016 after maturing for several years in the best of French and American oak.
Nose: Malty, fruit cake, cloves, orange chocolate, creme caramel, barnyard, red currants, forest undergrowth and white pepper.
Palate: Spiced cinnamon apple with custard, milk chocolate and fruit compote.
Finish: A warm gentle spice with chocolate, dry and lingering.
