The H. Upmann Connoisseur A felt like a really classic Cuban experience for me. Right from the start, there was that signature smoothness—cedar, light spice, and a creamy texture that made it very approachable. The draw was just right, offering a steady flow of aromatic smoke. Flavor-wise, it had a nice balance of wood, earth, and a touch of nuttiness. About halfway through, I noticed a floral note along with some sweetness that kept things interesting. The burn line wasn’t perfect, but it corrected itself without much effort. What stood out most was how refined it felt—everything was in harmony, with no harshness or bitterness. Compared to some of the stronger Nicaraguan smokes I’ve tried, this felt more subtle and elegant, though still full of character. By the final third, the flavors deepened, with more earth and spice, but it never lost its smoothness. This cigar gave me a real sense of Cuban tradition and why brands like H. Upmann are so respected. I’d definitely keep a few of these on hand for when I want something classic and dependable. Rating: 8/10

I echo comments regarding uneven burn. I had to touch it up a number of times which was quite irritating to be honest. However, classic mellow low strength Upmann cigar. My cigar personally was quite hard to draw on. I suspect I was just unlucky as Ive not had this problem with Upmann before. It loosened up in the last half hour so it wasnt all hard work!

A lovely smoke, nice easy draw producing lots of creamy smoke, very smooth. Burn was a little uneven but still produced a strong long ash. Very satisfying.

I'll keep it short and sweet. If you like smoking the Upmann magnum 46 & 50, you should try this. Its a very smooth sweet tasting cigar. It has a thick creamy taste with dark chocolate snf coffee taste. The amount of smoke it produces is similar to its siblings. The only negative issue I found was that the burn was not even but saying that, ig built I would say 2.5 inches of ash before falling off. I've still got another one and will see of that has uneven burn or whether it was that specific cigar that had the burn issue. In conclusion, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
