Talisker 44 Year Old Forest of the Deep - 49.1% 70cl

In 1825, the brothers Hugh and Kenneth McAskill rowed north from the Isle of Eigg across the Sea of the Hebrides to acquire Talisker House on the formidable shores of the Isle of Skye.

For nearly 200 years, Talisker distillery has been standing proudly by the sea, embracing the elements in a land of extremes that is the inspiration for the whisky we craft.

In this second Adventure, Talisker have partnered with Parley to “Rewild Our Seas” with a limited release of 44 year old rare whisky, finished in casks charred by flames fuelled by a mixture of worn oak from an oceanic adventure and sustainably harvested kelp.

Nose: Wood wreathed fragrant smoke and rich maritime notes combine with salt crystals and sweeter hints of rich toffee. 

Palate: A big, wonderfully oil-smooth texture and a mouth watering umami-rich taste with smoky waves. The effect becomes savoury and lightly drying as a delicious, peppery warmth surges forward to embrace these smooth, rich flavours.

Finish: Relatively long. Chilli pepper warmth suffuses the palate, fragrant smoke and sweetness linger in the aftertaste.
