Kilkerran 12 Year Old - 70cl 46%

Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic 'Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain' which is the name of the original settlement where Saint Kieran had his religious cell and Campbeltown now stands.

When considering a name for a new Campbeltown Malt, Kilkerran emerged as a fitting choice, diverging from the convention of old Campbeltown distilleries usually adopting names associated with a Glen, a practice more commonly linked with the Speyside region.

After 12 years and a fair variety of Work In Progress bottlings, the first core release of single malt Scotch whisky from the Glengoyle Distillery after reopening in 2004 is ready!

This Kilkerran 12 Year Old is lightly peated and non-chill filtered - meaning the whisky retains original colour, aroma and taste.

Matured in a combination of 70% bourbon casks and 30% Sherry casks, this is a whisky to be had!

Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt - 46% 70cl

Springbank distillery has rejuvenated their Campbeltown Loch Blended whisky brand.

It's an award-winning blended malt that brings together the five expressions from the region's three renowned distilleries: Glengyle, Glen Scotia and, of course, Springbank.

Rather than being a blend of malt and grain whiskies as it was in previous years, this is a 100% using the spirits from each of Campbeltown's three distilleries: Springbank, Kilkerran, and Glen Scotia.

Matured in a combination of Ex-Bourbon and Ex-Sherry Casks. Vatted and bottled at Springbank Distillery,

Tasting Notes

Kilkerran 12 Year Old:

Nose: Oak notes dominate, followed by the slightest hint of toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding. Cherries, marzipan and a touch of peat appear as well.
Palate: Initially full of fruit with citrus dominating. Next is vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits.
Finish: Smooth with lemon meringue. As you would have come to expect from a Campbeltown dram, there’s an oiliness and a saltiness but overall this whisky doesn't disappoint!

Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt - 46% 70cl

Nose: A distinct buttery note and characteristic hint of sea salt introduce this dram, along with notes of ginger loaf and pecan pie.
Palate: Creamy coffee, salted caramel, date syrup and crystallised brown sugar on the palate, with a subtle hint of peat smoke.
Finish: The peat smoke builds in the finish, with a leathery note developing over time.
