An 18 year old single barrel bourbon named after the Reverend Elijah Craig, credited with discovering the benefits of aging bourbon in charred barrels.

This expression of Elijah Craig is the pinnacle of Bourbon craftsmanship. Bold, robust, and incredibly complex, 18-Year-Old presents a rare and unique opportunity to sip some of the oldest Bourbon in Kentucky.

Parkers Heritage 15th Edition Heavy Char Wheat 11 Year Old - 61% 75cl

Following in the footsteps of the last two releases, the 15th edition of the Parker's Heritage Collection continues to explore the interaction of the barrel char level with varying mashbills in the Heaven Hill portfolio.

Consisting of only 75 barrels - each of which was charred for one minute and 30 seconds (Level 5), as opposed to our traditional 40 seconds (Level 3) - these heavy char barrels were filled with our wheat whiskey mashbill and aged on the 6th floor of Rickhouse Y for 11 years.

At bottling, the liquid was cut to 122 proof and non-chill filtered to maintain the texture, viscocity and depth of flavor on the palate.

Each year as part of the Parker's Heritage Collection, a specially selected whisky is chosen to be released in the name of late Master Distiller Parker Beam.

The barrels selected for this series include Bourbon, Rye, and Wheat Whiskeys, among others, and are some of the finest and most diverse American Whiskeys ever produced.

They are a fitting tribute to the expertise of Parker Beam.

 

Tasting Notes

Elijah Craig 18 Year Old Whisky - 75cl 45%

Nose: A very complex bourbon with a wonderful interplay between sweetness and white-pepper spice, along with a pecan note from the wood.
Palate: After a cool entry, the bourbon warms mid-palate, but never overpowers. It has a nice thick mouth feel and a long finish that combines mint and a lingering sweetness.
Finish: When it comes to over-aged bourbon, the guys at Heaven Hill know how to pick ’em. This is one to savour neat – and, with its handsome packaging and blue/copper labeling, to admire on your bar.

Parkers Heritage 15th Edition Heavy Char Wheat 11 Year Old - 61% 75cl

 

Nose: Spice-forward with a rich, fruity sweetness
Palate: Black cherries mixed with honey, cinnamon and cloves
Finish: Plentiful spice with notes of cherries
