San Cristobal de la Habana was the original name of Havana, Cuba's capital city, when it was founded in 1519; San Cristobal (St Christopher) in honour of the Saint of the day where the city was founded, and La Habana after an Indian name for the site.

San Cristobal de la Habana cigars were introduced in 1999 on the threshold of the new Millennium as a tribute to the city's long history.

At first the range comprised just four vitolas, each names after one of the fortresses built from the 16th to the 18th Centuries that defended Havana when it was the hub of Spain's American empire. These are: El Morro, La Fuerza, La Punta and El Principe.

Tasting Notes

A long robusto and in fact new vitola which was introduced to the San Cristobal range. This beefy cigar is full bodied and medium to full strength. Spicy notes throughout and multi layered.

Characteristic colorado maduro wrappers and good, firm construction. Good spicy aroma.

----

89 / 100

"...Subtly pressed with a gleaming wrapper. The draw and burn are a bit inconsistent, but medium-bodied notes of earth, leather and brown sugar remain steady..."

Not bad at all. Drunk with plenty of cognac, didnt disappoint. Not sure which blend this was but certainly worth a try. Medium in strength, say below the Bolivar/Partagas strength. written by asgard

Probably the least impressive of the St. Christopher line (even with the better blend) but a decent medium strength Gordito vitola with a firm draw. written by ca

Still unimpressed with the brand. tight draw with this one, rather aggressive leathery flavour. Its wrapper gives a sweet aroma if you are after a compromise. written by Mihai
