Description

As we don't do these in loose tobacco anymore, we thought it was only right to bring you a sampler so you can try some of the most popular tobaccos from the Samuel Gawith range before committing yourself to a full tin.

These have a different range of flavours and strengths and you won't want to miss out!

This sampler includes:

1 x 10g Samuel Gawith B.C. Cavendish

Rich Black Cavendish, together with a generous amount of Sweet Cherry flavouring generates a room aroma of freshly baked black cherry deserts.

With strength for the pipe-smoker and the aroma of cherries for the company, Samuel Gawith's Black Cherry Cavendish is a must for lovers of aromatic tobaccos.

Strength: 2/5
Aromatic Taste: 4/5
Room Note: 4/5

1 x 10g Samuel Gawith Perfection Mixture

Samuel Gawiths Perfection is a very different take on a Balkan/Oriental style tobacco, because of this it has created it own cult following. People looking for something different than what the norm would be!

Originally blended for a local Cumbrian smoker, who just couldn’t find that perfect blend for himself.

This tobacco contains a Virginia base mixed with Latakia, steamed to remove any tongue bite and blended with Turkish Izmir. A light casing of Vanilla has been added to give the tobacco that added sweetness.

What really matters is how Perfection smokes and as the name suggest, it is just pure perfection. The Izmir gives a spicy and creamy flavours, the Virginia and Latakia tobaccos are slight and don’t over power the Izmir, but do give that traditional grassy note

The Vanilla casing gives just a little extra sweetness to the smoke, without making it overly aromatic.

Strength: 3/5
Aromatic Taste: 2/5
Room Note: 3/5

1 x 10g Samuel Gawith Commonwealth Mixture

If Latakia isn't your thing, then Commonwealth certainly won’t be!

Containing 50% Latakia Commonwealth Mixture certainly is Samuel Gawith version of a Latakia Bomb!!

While the mixture might seem a little on the simple side, the smoke is far from that. 50% flue cured Virginia's and 50% Cypriot Latakia. All this resulting in a smooth and easy burning tobacco.

This may not be the strongest blend Samuel Gawith have to offer, but its richness of the Latakia will win you over. The smoke is very oaky and this is very fitting with the smokiness of the Latakia leaves.

The perfect blend for the smoker who not only likes Latakia, but really loves this Oriental leaf. The powerful flavours are not suggested for those new to Pipe Smoking, Latakia or if regular tobacco are mild aromatics, as this will be too rich.

Strength: 4/5
Aromatic Taste: 2/5
Room Note: 3/5

1 x 10g Samuel Gawith Skiff Mixture

Skiff is one of Samuel Gawiths most popular Oriental mixtures and it’s clear to see why so many people love it.

Built on a base of mixed and flue cured tobaccos, for a balanced and cool smoke. There is all so an added addition of steamed Izmir and Latakia. All this has been said to give the Skiff Mixture that classical English “Oriental” flavour profile.

Many praise this for being a classic “English Blend” and a kin to the highly sought after and missed Balkan Sobrane of the olden days.

Form the pouch you are greeted with the distinct, slightly fusty aroma of Orientals, with some sweet and grassy notes from the base leaves.

The tobacco starts off a little mellow and subdued, but like all good tobaccos should this blend progresses through the bowl and gets richer as you go.

While this isn’t exactly a powerhouse of a tobacco, it still carries enough strength and flavour to keep even the most hardened veteran satisfied from match to ash.
