Description

Crafted by Douglas Laing, Rock Island Rum Cask Edition is a blended Scotch whisky featuring Island single cask malts finished in Plantation Rum casks.

The wild, sea-salted shores of Scotland’s whisky islands are met by the warm and sun-soaked shores of the Caribbean in this limited-edition bottling.

A new depth of character has been achieved by finishing the maritime spirit in Plantation Rum Casks predominantly from the Caribbean, including from the island countries of Jamaica, Trinidad, and Barbados.

Bottled at 46.8% ABV without any added colouring or chill-filtration.

 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Initially detect salted caramel and sea-spray giving way to charred pineapple, vanilla fudge and stone fruits

Palate: Thick and mouth-coating with caramel and BBQ’d banana balanced by toasted oak and peated Malt.

Finish: Lingers long with candied ginger, brown sugar and just a touch of smoke.
