Partagas Serie D No. 6 Cigar - 1 Single

I dont think this cigar is short enough personally. Who has time to take three puffs on a cigar these days? When I sit down to enjoy a fine hand-made Havana cigar I only want it to last 3 minutes. After all, cigars are not meant for savouring when you have a bit of time, theyre meant for a quick fix on a 5 minute break. Other than that the flavours are okay. Very basic Partagás core profile of wood and pepper but with a hint of dry bitterness that makes it special. I sure am glad Habanos S.A. completely got rid of great classics such as the Partagás Series du Connoisseur, Punch Royal Selections, El Rey del Mundo Tainos, Bolivar Coronas Gigantes and Coronas Extra etc for a vast array of thoroughly mediocre nubs such as this.

Put it this way, 2 of these a week or one £12+ smoke? Id go one £12+ a week, you know that last inch or so of a decent smoke that starts to go a bit unpleasant? Well thats this all the way through...

All told, rather a non-event really. Nothing significant to criticise, but conversely not a great deal to say positive about this cigar as well, other than it was an effective way to while-away around half an hour or so and it did also provide a pretty good hit of nicotine. This was the first smoke of the three that I bought (because they were good value price-wise). Would I buy more again? Probably not, as there are many alternatives for around the same cost that deliver far more enjoyment. To sum up, not bad, but not great either!

Pre light draw seemed good however once it had been lit didnt seem to draw much smoke at all. Constant battle to keep it lit and a very uneven burn with a poor ash hold. Kept in humidor at RH 70% other cigars smoke well. It may just be a rogue cigar, would try again if gifted but dont think I shall be buying again unfortunately. Better robustos out there.
