Bolivar Royal Corona Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 12 April, 2009
Have just indulged in my first of these, after a full Sunday roast and appreciated with (firstly) a fresh coffee and (secondly) a dark rum. Currently I'm trying to work out how to muster the money for a full box - this cigar is damned near perfect. Excellent draw from finish to end, never hostile, never bitter, never tarry. Just superb. Strong flavours of coffee and black assam tea, creamy with a cocoa hint, and an aftertaste of smoked mopani wood. Took this fellow all the way to the nub and it could do no wrong. Agree with the other writers that the nicotine hit is something out of this world, and I for one would not consider this cigar on an empty belly. Buy some, and enjoy then on a full stomach, and you might be grinning as much as I am right now.

This a nice cigar for the money I.e. flavour, taste and aroma. I just did not want to put it out. I have ordered a Robusto made by these people and i can not wait to smoke it.

Nice smoke if only it was a inch or two longer, then this would of been a even better smoke. As it finished to soon.

Guantanamera Cristales Cigar - 1 Single

Wasn't expecting too much from this smoke, which is fortunate because it didn't really give too much. Very loose, burning quite hot and tarry, especially in the second part, and required a lot of liquid refreshment to kill the lingering taste after every draw. Pulled easily enough, maybe a little too easily, but it's biggest downfall was the lack of anything decent on the flavour front. Probably a great smoke for a drunkard, but not for day to day appreciation. Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid!

Bolivar Petit Coronas Cigar - 1 Single

Oh my God! In honesty I had not been looking forward to this smoke, expecting something heavy and unsavoury, but this has just leaped to the 'top dog' slot in my humidor. Starts off exciting and complex, burns well, no acridness or bitter flavours, and just keeps moving the goalposts with every draw. Halfway through I was grinning like a monkey and made a note to get myself a box of these at the first opportunity - this first having been bought for me by my other half. For the price, you get a smoke that knocks the spots off of pretty much anything in this size that I have tried, and I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if I can find something that tops this. Buy one now and give it a try, compliment it with a glass of Havana Club, and see what you're missing out on.

Cuaba Tradicionales Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 04 April, 2009
A confusing start, courtesy of the design of the cigar, I struggled to get any even burning within the first third and subsequently spent more time playing than enjoying. Second part of this cigar was very pleasing, however, with hints of all I could describe as 'sweet and earthy' flavours, that may not sound that good, but work incredibly well with a nice cuban rum. The smoke increased in complexity as I worked though it, but before I knew it I was down to the stub, pining for an extra third, but not disappointed with what I'd had. Give it a whirl, you could easily spend £7.50 on something far worse, I assure you...
