Fonseca No. 1 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 23 May, 2017
It was interesting to read the other comments, as I experienced a bit of this and a bit of that. For example, in my opinion it was a medium draw that needed effort, albeit moderate, to keep it going. Nevertheless, the construction was first class. Amongst cigar smokers I not only have to list myself under ‘occasional’ but also as a weakling. In other words I could not possibly cope with something like a Punch. Mildness and sweet natured are my buzz words, and this one hits the spot. I got nuts, cedar and – like another reviewer – a hint of harshness at the beginning that disappeared very quickly and then developed into a delightful subtle flavour that lasted. Only halfway through did I get some tarry spiciness but even then it was not overpowering, and once again, quite curiously, it disappeared again. I had this maturing in my humidor for four years so that might have something to do with it but from me it comes highly recommended. This was my first Fonseca but definitely not the last; an early evening smoke that goes along nicely with Port and Pecorino.

H. Upmann Majestic Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 21 May, 2017
Very enjoyable. I smoked this while reading a book and it was a perfect compliment to such. Perfect draw, just a little resistance as you'd like and a great burn. The Majestic is very flavourful but isn't particularly complex, however you don't always want that, with a box of these you'd know what to expect. In the first third it was quite mild with a nutty, woody taste. In the second third it built upon these flavours and became slightly more rich with leathery notes appearing and a little sweetness; in the final third this rich leather and woodiness was even more pronounced with coffee flavours becoming noticeable. In the final couple of inches I did notice a little bitterness but I put this down to the cigar being young. Overall, a fantastic smoke for the price and is one I will definitely be returning to.

Montecristo Petit No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 21 May, 2017
Unfortunately I spoiled my first experience with the Petit No. 2 due to a slip of the hand during lighting which incinerated the wrapper and led to burn problems, but I had 3 more and so onwards and upwards. My second experience however was divine, the first third was actually the best part of the whole cigar with a lovely creamy, buttery and spicy taste. Past the 2nd third these flavours made way and I got rich flavours of wood and nuts but with a mellow smoothness about them, never overpowering. in the 3/3 the signature buttery flavour showed it's face again in combination with a balanced and no nonesense rich Cuban tobacco taste. Simply superb. I wish I could smoke these every day but my bank would strongly disagree.

Cohiba Siglo I Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 21 May, 2017
Mine had a very tight draw and I didn't think much of the flavour either, really quite bland with not much going on, very narrow. I will purchase again as this could have been due to the tight draw and the fact that the cigar was very obviously overpacked, I thought Cohiba had some of the best quality control in the industry? Never mind, I have a Maduro 5 that will hopefully make up for it. Definitely sample it, I have no doubt that one without these problems would be a great smoke, these things can happen with hand made products of course.

By no means a bad cigar, good construction, pleasant taste and cheap price. If on a budget I would recommend
