H. Upmann Half Corona Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 19 February, 2017
For such a short cigar, I was surprised to see this last approximately 50 minutes. Nice even burn, and didn't have to be relit once. The draw was slightly tight, although this didn't detract from the enjoyment. I found the flavours to be excellent - minty on the cold draw, with leather, spice, citrus and various further flavours that my immature palette is unable to describe effectively. Complex, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Inka Secret Blend Red Half Corona Cigar - 1 Single

Pleasantly surprised by these. Great construction and the best draw I've experience during my short time smoking cigars. Flavours are not overpowering, but I detected several distinctly different notes during that smoke so it never became boring during the hour it took me. I've smoked two of these so far, with one left in the tupperdor - if the third is as good as the first two, I think I'll make it my go-to non-cuban. Great value IMO.

Cohiba Maduro 5 Magicos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 19 February, 2017
Bought one of these in the sample selection, it was the second cigar I tried. Nice smooth flavour that was consistent throughout, no pepperiness more marzipan and mellow. Burn was good leaving a light grey ash and draw was perfect. My complaint would be that it did not last as long as expected for the size of the cigar, this could be me being greedy and the flavour being mellow but I got no more than half an hour out of the cigar drawing it to within an inch of its life. I would be tempted to make this a regular but at this price I am going to stick with my Trinidad Reyes. Shame, I really enjoyed this smoke as I took the dogs for a long walk through the woods.

Vegueros Mananitas Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 18 February, 2017
This is an update to my previous review dated 05/11/16 where I stated that the first half of this cigar was a little too spicy for my taste. I'd bought 3 of these and smoked the first one almost immediately. The others I left in my humidor for another 2 months before trying again. It was worth the wait. They tasted just as Cgars describe them on this page. Certainly give the Montecristo Media Coronas a run for their money especially considering the price. I've uprated them to 5 STARS. I now must try the Entretiempos.

Montecristo Petit Edmundo Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 17 February, 2017
I opened a new box of Montecristo Petit Edmundo from 2013 and I just loved the beautiful oily wrapper and the look of the old band. A lot of people don’t like the old band because they feel that it looks ‘’cheap’’ but I love it because is a simple design. Many cigar companies focus more on the decoration of their bands and boxes than on the quality of their cigars. Some of the best cigars I ever smoked used simple bands and come inside simple boxes. The cigar begins quite earthy as usual with a Montecristo, fresh herb notes and very smooth. The flavour developed into a woody and black pepper taste but with a sweet smoke at the same time. The cigar finishes with a full bodied strength, very rich earthy and herb taste with the classic Montecristo pepper notes. This is a great sized cigar for 35-40 minutes smoke, which I found smother in comparison with other Montecristo sizes. Perfect with an espresso or a dram of C.gars Cigar Malt after lunch. David. La Invicta Honduran Maduro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 16 February, 2017
I'm still fairly new to the cigar world but I fell on my feet with this stick. I have always been a fan of tobacco that gives you something to think about and this certainly keeps you interested. There is a beautifully spicy taste to this cigar, and a pretty even burn. I found that you need to take your time with it or the cigar will bite back with a strong hit if you try to do a Thomas the tank engine impression but if enjoyed with a decent coffee or dark ale it gives a lovely flavour with no bitterness. Only draw back is the caps can be a little bit delicate on the occasional one but a clean cut will solve this. I bought one as a bit of selection and within the first third had already ordered another 5 as a after work smoke. For the price and the taste it can't be knocked at all!
