First let me thank Quai dOrsay so much for this unique cigar. mild body, the draw, burn, and constrection are amazing. Varied bouquet of Flavors, aromas, and after tastes.. Such as grassy, earthy, spring, sun,Vanilla, pomegranate, white grapes, raw almond, and powder thick smoke. I will make sure keeps a large number of these fancy sticks in my cigar humidors. Others will no doubt have other different ways of deciding in which order to smoke their monthly cigar subscriptions, be it lucky dip or some complicated methodology. For me I take just a brief look at what is in the package without any research and then order them into what I think will be worst to best in overall terms. I then smoke them (starting with my perceived worst) as and when I feel like over the course of the month in between my regular cigar smokes. This month was no exception and the Quorum Shade Grown Robusto was my first smoke out of the August selection subscription box. What a lovely cigar it was, mild, smooth and easygoing. A most pleasant 45 minutes and the other cigars now certainly have a lot to live up to when it comes to their turn!

We are off to a good start the draw after cutting delivered a very pleasant tobacco taste. It is well rolled and the rapper looked good. The burn on this one was a bit onesided and I had to fiddle with it to get it to burn evenly. The 1st 3rd was incredible and we were off to a very good start with lovely woody notes carrying through to the 2nd 3rd with nice creamy mild smoke. The last 3rd was an assault to the senses as it got very acrid and taste like, what I can only describe as relighting an old smoked cigar that has laid in the ashtray for a couple of days. For the price this is a good cigar and I would like to try it again as the first two 3rds were great.

1. Appearance & Construction Cigar had a nice dark brown wrapper, smooth to touch even though the wrapper was veiny.  Was a tad dry near the foot at there was a slight crack. Tobacco was filled nicely and the cigar had decent weight to it. Didnt look amazing. I mean there are cigars you see and your reaction is wow. From the look of this cigar and the label you could tell this wasnt a high end cigar. 10/15. 2. Flavor & Aroma. Before even lighting the cigar there was a strong earthy smell. During the course of the smoke the flavor was earthy, leathery with hints of coffee, but there was an over empowering hint of fiery peppery spice that was there in the background. If the spicy-ness was a tad less the flavor wouldve been outstanding. 17/25. 3. Smoking Characteristics. Everything came easy with this cigar. Cutting to lighting was effortless. Burn was uneven to begin with but with a couple of touch ups and by the time it got to the 2nd 3rd it was burning beautifully. Ash was white like snow and stayed on the cigar all the way to the nib. Draw was heavy and a litt
