Montecristo Open J Cigar - 1 Single by Peter

Just finished smoking this cigar which was a very fine smoke all the way until the end when it got a bit hot. Nevertheless, I'll be buying this one again.

My Father Flor De Las Antillas - Robusto Cigar - 1 Single by Jamie

One of my faves! If I had the money I'd buy them by the truck load and age as they are sweet, creamy & smooth. Occasional bitter note creeps in but just another month resting would solve that I'm guessing. Always very good construction, worth the money in my opinion. I think I'm the opposite from Thomas, started with cubans and quickly forgot about them - for me a really mellow and smooth cigar is vastly important... cubans are just too strong for me sadly. But I do still love my Punch Coronations... actually have to buy some soon! The band is a thing of beauty, as is the little red sleeve at the foot of these cigars - very nice attention to detail!

Montecristo No. 5 Cigar - 1 Single by Chris

I sampled this with a pint of London Pride ale after watching England draw 1 - 1 with Russia in the European Championships. Thought I was in for another disappointment as on lighting the flavours were rather nondescript to say the least. However this was short lived as after the first quarter inch it just got better and better. Very smooth and without a trace of bitterness. Compares very favourably with the Media Corona which I think I still prefer, but only just. And at around £1 cheaper quite good value.

Montecristo No. 5 Cigar - 1 Single by Staff

Reviewed by Joe Gellman I finished breakfast and had a half cup (we use the French cups, you know, the ones you use two hands to hold) of Cubita coffee left and decided to go to the terrace (actually, a deck over the garage where I do most of my smoking) and finish the coffee and smoke a No. 5. The cigar measures 4" x 40 (mine measured 4" x 41 and though it has been described as having a ring gauge of 40 or 42, I find this to be part of the manner of storage. I will buy a few at the factory in Cuba next October and measure them to try my hypothesis) and is a mighty little might, when aged properly (as this was, thank you, C.GARS Ltd) I get a kick out of the oft overused tripe that this vitola is the brand's poorest make. Well, it that is true, all the vitolas are of my liking, the poorest still good enough for my tastes. I found the cigar to be as full bodied as the No. 4 and a tad fuller than the No. 3 corona. Montecristo No. 4 Cigar - 1 Single by Staff

Reviewed by Brent Metcalfe ( November 2000) It was a rainy, fall day when the Cubans arrived at my door. As I unwrapped the complex packaging, I was struck with that 'anticipation' feeling of wondering what cigar I was going to receive. I reached into the box and to my delight withdrew a cigar band that was noticeable to anyone who smokes cigars. I'm referring to the Montecristo band, except this one with the Habana label! The wrapping was perfect with no visible veins or scarring of any kind and had a visible oily hue. It is one of those cigars that the smell (unlit, of course) is enough to start the salivary glands going. In my haste, I couldn't wait to try one. I did however wait until after I had a nice non-filling dinner to fully appreciate the 'afterglow' of the evening. The Montecristo #4 (5", 42 ring), lit fairly easy. I struggled with the draw though, and attempted to alter my cut just enough to give me a little more. I ran the cigar along my fingers and noted that the foot of the cigar was rolled a little tight, hence, the difficult draw. The flavor however, was just
