Meharis by Agio Red Orient Cigar - Pack of 10
Date Added: Sunday 30 April, 2017
Great little cigars. Been smoking these for years, long before I discovered CGars.com. They are not always easy to find these days so the website is a life saver. They are very handy if you want to keep up with the 'fag' smokers network, out in the rain, and you don't have time for a proper smoke.

Montecristo No. 4 Cigar - 1 Single

I was quite disappointed with my cigar and was expecting more based on the reviews and status of this cigar. For the first inch I got a nice complex spicy flavour but after that the cigar started burning down the side and would not return to an even burn no matter how much I nursed it, nor would it stay lit. It had an extremely tight draw too. I ended up having to throw the second half away as it was too difficult an experience to enjoy. The cigar was dry boxed and checked for signs of being at the correct humidity before smoking as I do with all my cigars so that definitely wasn't the problem, all other cigars from the same humidor were fine. Must have received a bad one.

I am currently on the 3rd quarter of the cigar, and to be honest I am quite dissapointed. Not much smoke with a hard draw, and tightly wrapped. Very smooth though, and easy on the tongue. I can see why this is a beginners cigar. Definitely get your money's worth though!

Montecristo Petit No. 2 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 07 April, 2017
The cigar looked flawless, smelt amazing and had been stored perfectly. From first light it was nothing short of BRILLIANT. The first 1/3 was fantastic! Not very spicy, more Monty number 2 esc, cream and buttery. After the first third, either the cigar dulled, or I got used to it. The stick turned slightly blander and less exciting in its flavours, but as I say, this could have been me settling into it and taking the No.2 for granted after the initial influx of perfection. The draw was perfect throughout, and the burn: Faultlessly even. Could I buy a box of these? I'd probably have to try a second to be sure, but first I want to directly compare the Regatta this weekend. A Cigar I have smoked many times before, so I expect a close competition. I am not the number 2's biggest fan, as it can be overwhelmingly buttery to the pallet. But as usual, there is a time and a place for a multitude of different smokes. My date last night with the petit was pretty dam good! Scott

Not sure if it's the change to BST. But something's keeping me awake. The unwritten rule I have is "if awake for an hour might as well get up". In this case also means might as well have a smoke. A lot in the humidor at the moment and I have a few options, but standing out is the lone Monte #2. It's been there a while but for some reason has remained unmolested. Shortly after relighting I am reminded why I always claim this is my favourite cigar. Lighting is easy and then it just become like the king wenceslass Carol. "clean and crisp and even" Smokes like a non fussed trooper to half way when it takes on a slightly perfumed note to the last third at which point it takes on the trade mark full Monte flavour and really starts to sing. Make no mistake this is a king of all cigars. To put it in context, there are ten cohiba esplendidos in the humidor at the moment and this is better than any of them.

I have to admit, I have had a couple of No.4's that were a little heavy on the draw. Not enough to stop me enjoying them, but a little irritating. I do have to say though that the vast majority have had an easy draw and been an absolute joy to smoke. Nice and smooth and with a lovely taste and smell. This was the Cuban cigar that got me into cigar smoking about ten years ago, and after a three year break while I quite cigarettes, I'm back now. I'm intending to try as many different Cuban and South American cigars as I can, just to see if I can find my true favourite and build a nice selection of different sticks. The Montecristo No. 4 though, will be my go to stick until I have found my favourite.
