Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta Corona Gorda Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 27 May, 2024
Tasting notes couldn't be more accurate. Perfectly formed unit, even the cut was exemplary, light spice to it from the start and burned well staying equally as satisfying to the label and the final darker wrapper gave a deeper finish to a great smoke!

Juliany Blue Label Coronita Cigar - 1 Single

In my May subscription and what a find. Smokes like a far more expensive cigar. Good even burn and nice draw. Surprised at how smooth a smoke this is for the price. About to order quite a few more for a cheeky smoke by the pool on holiday this year.

A very good light cigar that is consistent and has a great smoke output. The Puro is loosely wrapped and so be careful if cutting as this can affect the construction of this great cigar. I was very pleasantly surprised by this one and it is an ideal 'daily' go to Puro that has good flavour...for my palate coffee, cream and nuts.Light on the draw and one I thoroughly enjoyed. You may need to relight this one every now and then, however, overall this is a very nice smoke and reminds me of the cigars that were originally smoked by Che and others in the old Cuban revolution days - simple, enjoyable and a bit of fun too!

Jose L Piedra Petit Cetros Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 09 April, 2024
Have tried all the JLP cigars and whilst the Cazadores seems to be the best value due to its size I found the flavour to be exceptionally thin. Same with the Conservas. For quite some time now the Petit Cetros have been my favourite. They last a reasonable amount of time if sipped and have decent flavour. Shame they are so expensive now.

Joya de Nicaragua Cinco De Cinco Robusto Cigar - 1 Single

Paired with Courvoisier VS Cognac. My first Joya, good open draw, excellent construction. On lighting, lots of smoke with lovely oaky, espresso, dark and nutty, barnyard and chocolate aromas and flavour.... Very nice black and red sweet pepper, with a hint of chili's on the retrohale, with chocolate chip cookies taste coating the palette. A very oily chewy smoke. Develops into a milk chocolate smooth cappuccino and finishes nutty and deep mahogany. Wow!

This is an interesting unit, with it's dual wrapper and all. Beautifully made it has to be said and this was borne out as it smoked its way gently and evenly to the nub. First impressions are very good, with an instant hit of chocolate and nuts, think a dark Ferrero Rocher maybe? Develops nicely and, when you get down to the band and (very delicately) remove it, the way in which the darker leaf melds in is quite a sight to behold. Unfortunately, for me at least, it didn't really add anything and the smoking just got a bit darker and monotonous in the final third. Overall though I enjoyed it and it will be definitely be a talking point if you get to share it with friends.
