Cohiba Coronas Especiales Cigar - Box of 25
Date Added: Friday 03 June, 2016
Reviewed by Roger Farnsworth Filler - Cuba, Binder - Cuba, Wrapper - Cuba, 6.5 x 42 This slim, mature cigar bore a dusty teak-coloured wrapper airbrushed with tiny diamonds of plume and wore a delicate, lacy web of minute veins that were feint enough to give the illusion of being painted on. The band slipped effortlessly over the head of this cigar, the girth of which had obviously diminished with the passage of time. Masterful construction was evident in the firm, even roll and the perfectly executed cap; the signature pigtail cocked at a jaunty angle after being freed from its elegant pressboard capsule. The pre-light scents of mild cedar and aged tobacco wafted up as I turned the cylinder in my fingers, silken wrapper smooth to the touch. Once the cap fell to the sharp blade of the cutter, the draw was revealed to be perfectly resistant and, before the flicker of flame was brought near, the elegant flavours of exotic spice and a mild tickle on the lips presaged the melodious blend. The waver of the match, cupped against the morning breeze, sought the end of the cigar and w

Chinchalero Picadillos Cigar - 1 Single

Great little cigar. Started with a thin wispy smoke with mild cocoa notes. The second third had much creamier, almost blue smoke with stronger cocoa sweetness and rich tobacco flavours. The final third packed a strong pepper tingle on the lips with an almost citrusy leather taste. The draw was tight to begin with but the generous cap allowed me to take off a little more and enjoy the tight packed slow burn. Smoke time for me was about 40 mins.

Chinchalero Novillo Fuerte Maduro - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 23 April, 2016
Tried one of these for the first time today and I wasn't disappointed. A wonderful post-lunch smoke. The draw was near perfect, medium flavour, mild hints of chocolate and slightly spicier for the last third. As I'm used to smoking full and very full-flavoured Cuban cigars, it was definitely medium, although the maduro wrapper might make you think it was full flavoured. Well now that I've tried one, I can't wait to order a whole bunch more.

I'm no expert on cigars, but I have tried a few. This was the first chinchalero for me and I found the draw really good, the burn was even right to the end, but the taste... Well, I didn't like it. Not harsh, but very woody and not in a good way. I bought two of these, the first one I smoked to the end. Hoping that maybe the second one will be better I lit it up today, but I couldn't even smoke half of it, I put it out. Others might like this kind of flavour, but I personally will not be buying these again, not even at this very good price.
