CLE Asylum 13 Robusto Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 21 April, 2018
Ive heard many good reports of CLE Asylum cigars and so I went with this Robusto. I really enjoyed it. Remained very firm throughout and I enjoyed the flavours as I smoked it. It lasted me just over an hour I think. Id definitely buy again although Im looking forwards to the Hercule for my next Asylum purchase.

Chinchalero Esportivo Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Thursday 19 April, 2018
Purchased in spring of 2016 as part of a fact-finding-mission in preparation for my wedding in September of the same year. Six-month reconnaissance took my senses from Cuba and the New World to Europe, Sumatra and beyond. Starting my expedition with this Chinchalero Esportivo, with its smooth tasting blend of new world fillers - wasnt too imposing. Beneath the cocoon of cellophane, the small creases and imperfections in the wrapper assured me that it was truly hand-rolled. The thirty-eight ring gauge felt a little slim in the hand (my hands anyway) but led to a concentrated taste when throughout the petit-corona sized, five-inch length. Good flavour, not spicy but creamy and warm. Smoke for around 30 minutes with a pale ale on a spring afternoon in the garden, a much needed rest after walking the dog and cutting the grass. The Chinchalero Esporivo established a good baseline for me on my adventure, and I would revisit the pleasure of the smoke in my head before lighting up future cigars I considered to be comparable. I have a Chinchalero Torcidos resting peacefully in my

Camacho Connecticut Machitos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Friday 06 April, 2018
Amazing value short smoke, loads of spice in the first third, things mellowed in the second third and transitioned nicely into a smooth and leathery final third. Paired beautifully with a light, fruity barbera I was drinking at the time. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for an interesting short smoke.

Century USA Black C (B-23) (Black Cherry) Pipe Tobacco (Loose)
Date Added: Saturday 14 April, 2018
In fairness I should point out I am not a fan of aromatics but occasionally try one on the recommendation of an experienced pipe smoking friend. It smells good in the packet but is moist to the point of wetness. Perhaps I should have let it dry out but was eager to try it so filled the bowl and tried to light it. I went through half a box of matches before I got to the end of the gloopy stuff. The topping was overwhelming and far from pleasant - tongue bite severe. All in all a gruesome experience... unless you happen to be a masochist. Of course I recognise that we are all different and this might be right up your alley. I can only say it wasn't up mine.

Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 26 March, 2018
Inch for inch, this was the priciest smoke in my humidor and I had been very much looking forward to it. What a disappointment! First, the draw was so tight I was struggling to get much through it. I rolled it around and got it loosened up a bit, but it never quite produced the easy draw and large volumes of smoke I was anticipating. Next, it wouldn’t hold its ash, and it wouldn’t stay lit. I had to relight it three times and after it went out a fourth time I lost the will to try again, with still about an inch to go. Looking at the other reviews, perhaps I was unlucky with the construction of this one. However, overall, this was a very disappointing smoke. I did occasionally encounter the Cohiba flavours I had been looking forward to, but it fell well short of my expectations and I will have to think hard about whether to invest this much again in another one any time soon.

Cohiba Behike BHK 54 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 24 March, 2018
Unfortunately its not possible to review these cigars while completely ignoring the enormous price mark-up. They can be fantastic cigars, lovely subtle, complex flavours and beautifully rolled.. but the quality and enjoyment is just not in proportion to the huge price. A lot of it is just clever marketing to wealthy cigar smokers with more money than sense. Equally great and even better quality Havana cigars can be found for a small fraction of the price of these. These cigars, at most, should be half the price.
