I’m not massive fan of Cubans, and they’re hit and miss. Once you get a good one, you get the best, and when you get a bad one, you get a bad one. This is one fine and superb cigar. I got Mays Cuban/New World Sub pack after a hiatus of a year and a half and as Al Pacino said ‘Just when I I thought I was out, they dragged me back in’ And this cigar and the Subscription pack just did that. The construction was veiny, I didn’t have high hopes, but it could wonderfully and the construction besides one worry was outstanding. The draw was beautiful, not too tight, but not a wind tunnel. The aroma was something of beauty, the flavour was what a Cuban should be. Class and beauty. The flavours of cream, cedar, wood, a light chocolate and the ash was crisp white and a burn to die for. One touch up and it burned smooth as silk. It made me wonder why I don’t delve into Cubans more often. With the new Sub pack I have my new excuse. Billy has picked some of the best cigars I’ve ever had in this months sub box. I genuinely can’t wait until next month because I’d have bypassed a Cuban for a Camacho or Casa Turrent. As always, Cgars pulled no punches with this cigar. It states it lasts around forty mins, I took it slow-ish and I got an hour of bliss and flavour. My neighbour popped her head over my fence and said that was a fine smelling stogie too, and she’s a cigarette smoker! It speaks volumes of the highest magnitude. 10/10 and I maybe adding this to my humidor in the very near future.

Never had one until last week. Wow! One of if not the best cigars Ive ever smoked. Draw was absolutely perfect. Lovely and loose. Burn and construction was also perfect. Taste was excellent and rich. Tasted a bit like Punch cigar proile to start with for me, with sweet hazelnuts, treacle and vanilla but then develops a bit and gets a bit more bitter flavours with coffee, oak and spice. Sounds weird but it almost had a slight colone type scent and taste but in a nice way! I also found the scent in the air to have an almost wood campfire type scent which I found pleasantly suprising. This cigar would be the perfect cigar for smoking after eating some fine red meat BBQd on the campfire while watching the sunset on a summers evening after a days hunting. For the price these are exceptional. In my opinion not quite as tasty as a Cohiba robusto but only by a whisker and for pretty much half the price!

Horrible construction. The draw was as tight as it could be- had to use my Perfect Draw multiple times. Had an uneven draw, went out twice and by the middle, it completely fell apart. Maybe I was unlucky, but it was not a good smoking experience.

Great tasting and flavoursome. Initially took it for a cheaper cigar in my selection due to the size but constructed well. Draw was a little tight and went out a few times which is its only downfall. Felt like I had to take more frequent puffs. Very little pepper which I like. Woody, cloves, sweet peanut flavours. The strength Id say is a medium. If the draw and relighting issue were solved, I deffo buy right away but was just short of wowing me so one for another day after I try a few more cigars out there.

I always make sure I have these in the humidor. I have no problem justifying the price on these.
