Ramon Allones is one of the big names in the history of Habanos. Founded in 1837, it is one of the oldest brands still in production.

A Galician by birth Ramon Allones was the first cigar manufacturer to pack his Habanos in boxes decorated with labels and stamped with his brand's emblem. He was the pioneer of the packaging tradition that we know today.

All the sizes are filled with a blend of filler and binder tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo zone, characterised by their intense and complex taste. Amongst the best known sizes are the Gigantes and the Specially Selected.

Tasting Notes

Despite the brand of Ramon being a full flavour and full strength cigar, the Gigantes of recent production is somewhat lighter in strength and flavour that one would expect. Nonetheless this is still a complex Havana with a light floral aroma and a fairly easy draw. A good day time Double Corona.

"...This double corona is coarse and has a good draw. The burn is off. It has some rich leather flavours and a medium to full body..."

I had these which I bought sometime back ( not from C.Cigars ) they have been in my humidor for about 1 1/2 years now . Recently I took one out for a smoke the draw was so so but the favour thou still complex with floar scent doesen`t taste quite right . The next day me and 2 more guys smoke 2 more from my same batch 2 from theirs and all of us agreed that some how the Ramon Allones Gigantes does not have the same taste as what it used to be . I still have the 8 years old R.A Giganties in my collection and I smoke 1 today sure enought it taste much diffenent . Find that the new batches has lost it`s stars . Did they change the vivola ? written by jsng

Perfect draw, excellent contruction and a delicious floral perfume giving way to a spicy rich aroma. A tough cigar to beat after a light evening meal with a glass of good robust port such as Niepoort LBV 1997. written by Big Ed
