Pros: Flavour profile was smooth with no harshness or bitterness despite the cigars being young (2019 EMS label), very pleasing aromas from the foot smoke. Is very affordable for a tubed Cuban cigar, always great to have a tube handy if you dont want to carry around a portable cigar case/pouch while youre out and about. Cons: Noticed immediately that the cigar was packed rock-solid from cap to foot and after lighting my fear was confirmed: It was like trying to suck liquid cement through a paper straw. What little smoke I managed to draw was quite thin and when the draw did not improve after the first third I abandoned it. Between Quintero and Jose L. Piedra, JLP definitely offers the superior budget Cuban cigar in my personal experience. My advice would be that if you find Cuban cigars stretching your budget, smoke less often but when you do smoke, treat yourself to a premium cigar.

As relatively new to smoking cigars, only a couple of years to be honest, I have tried many different ones and I find this to be a firm favourite. A good even burn, smooth mellow flavours and lasts me a good 50 minutes of smoking enjoyment. I’m still trying new types , the Hoyo de Monterrey epicure no 2 being my special cigar but the Quintero Tubulares is a very nice any time of day smoke. I’m looking forward to trying many more but feel like I will always come back to these. As I said I’m a complete novice when it comes to smoking cigars but at the moment I’m enjoying these and at under £9 each I don’t think you can go wrong. I will be ordering more for my humidor as soon as pay day comes.

As I finish this cigar, I am really pleasantly surprised. A cheaper option for an everyday kind of smoke as opposed to a special occasion, it lit well, never went out, was tightly wrapped and the structure stayed evenly throughout the smoke. Nice volume of smoke - the Ash stayed about 2.5cms and would drop after, but not a problem for me. Sweet coffee and toffee tones for me, blended well with a single malt scotch whiskey (Haig Clubman). Didn’t want the experience to end. Would smoke again!

Between Jose L. Piedra and Quintero, only Quintero offer a hand rolled, short filler Cuban cigar in a tube. Unless you like Guantanamera, this is pretty much your only option if you want to put a nice, cheap Cuban in a decent vitola in your top pocket when youre going out somewhere.

Get these from my local retailer at same price.Rat tooth to prevent it breaking up as they have done with usual cutter.Smooth not harsh smoke and lasts for at least 45 mins.Makes a nice alternative to my Partagas Serie 4.Very good with a dram or two of Glenturret Malt.

Loved this one, mild and nutty through out, only thing i can fault it on is that it burns unevenly sometimes, apart from that nothing. Would definitely buy again.
