Punch is one of the very oldest Habano brands. Don Manuel Lopez of Juan Valle & Co  founded it in the mid 19th century with an eye to the booming British market where a humorous magazine of the same name was much in vogue.

A contented Mr Punch, the clown who personified the magazine, is still featured in every box, cigar in hand, and surrounded by 19th Century images of cigar making that remain virtually unchanged over a century and a half later.

In 1931 the Punch became associated with Hoyo de Monterrey and the two brands have been made in the same factory ever since. Today the factory is La Corona.

Punch's distinct medium flavour created with a blend of filler and binder tobaccos from Vuelta Abajo is available in a wide variety of sizes which are all long filler and totally hand made.

Tasting Notes

Medium flavour and medium to full strength, a good balanced smooth and complex Havana that is well constructed and generally comes with a dark chocolate brown wrapper.

"...Rich chocolate notes immediately come through, transitioning elegantly into a palate of leather, baking spices and a distinct floral note of hibiscus..."

I'm new to cubans and enjoyed this a lot. Spicy, woody and with generous amounts of smoke. Good construction, consistent draw and burn. One to note.

I left this one in my humidor for a few months due to the previous reviews and found it to be an ok smoke, had better but had worse, for the price probably better off with a Romeo y Julieta Petit Coronas.

Pretty decent value cigar for a beginner. The smoke was a bit on the thin side for me personally, but flavour was decent and quite chocolatey. It burned evenly and didn't go out at all. Wouldn't necessarily be top of my list to buy again, but equally wouldn't be put off in the future.

I didn't bought it from C.Gars Ltd. But would recommend if you wanted to buy this Punch Petit Coronations as it is cheaper than cigar store on high street around £2. As the tobacco beginner, it was my third cigar brand. The cigar is not great, but worth to play around with ;-P. In addition, I find that this cigar does not burn evenly.

I am smoking this cigar accompanied with a nice single malt, now the whisky is great but the cigar is a bit of a let down, first the draw was very bad i had to suck the life out of it to get a half decent amount of smoke, it did burn evenly though and the aroma was a bit harsh and not that pleasant, also this is a very mild cigar (maybe due to the draw) and not to my taste.
