Por Larranaga Galanes Cigar - Box of 10

Perfect construction with great draw. Lots of mild to medium smoke with hay/wood notes but not overly dry. Built on flavours towards the end which I smoked literally till I burnt my fingers.

Extremely good construction cigar long leafs dose not go out if you leave it for long (you dont have to keep puff) slow burner, plenty of output smoke, even if you dont puff the smoke keeps coming out of the cigar...its amazing you must have one in your humidor

My daughter bought me one (and a few other brands) for Christmas. I kept this one in my humidor as a special smoke for New Years Eve and I was dismayed from the start. To begin with it would not draw. The initial cap clip was very hard indicating a very poor make that produced a tight block. Despite a probe up inside the barrel it still would not draw so I tried feeling how far up the barrel the hard block reached. Too far. I used my cutter again and cut up to what I thought was going to improve the draw. Not very far. I wanted some cigar left to smoke. Still no draw. I cut more and it began to draw. Then I discovered the flavour was almost tasteless. It did not improve at all, leaving me very annoyed. It spoilt my New Years evening. I guess I got a bad one But for that price there should not be a bad one in the box.

I have just finished my first Galanes and I found it thoroughly enjoyable. I’m a big fan of this brand and regularly smoke the petit corona as it is my favourite in that size and was eager to try this new vitola from Por Larranaga. It is a complex flavour of wood and leather which was very pleasant and I found got slightly milder and easier to smoke as it went on. The burn was slightly off for the first third but soon evened out. At over £20 for one stick it is at the top end of my budget but is a great addition the their range and I’ll definitely be buying more of them.

Despite its young age, this cigar is an incredible new addition to the Habanos portfolio. The rich flavours kept me wanting more and more after each puff. The cigar will improve with age and the flavours will blend into a more effective profile. However, even now it can be thoroughly enjoyed and I highly recommend this one.
