The Papalin project is dedicated to the art of blending, the rums being sourced from a variety of different distilleries on a single island to create a multi-layered rum.
The reason Papalin is called a “tropical dependent bottler” is because Velier is the only company that creates direct partnerships with distilleries when it comes to sourcing and ageing rums. Therefore, they depend on these distilleries until the product is bottled.
This way, all projects are planned hand in hand with partners in terms of sourcing and ageing, which always takes place in the official warehouses of the distilleries.
Papalin Haiti 4 Year Old is the 3rd release from the project and is a blend of Clairin rums from Sajous, Vaval, Casimir and Le Rocher; and cane syrup rums from Distillerie de Port-au-Prince, all aged for a minimum of 4 years in a variety of casks which include ex-Caroni, ex-Cognac and ex-bourbon. Sipped neat, Papalin Haiti displays warm cane notes with gilled pineapple, tobacco and aromatic spices.
It is a rum which showcases the breadth and complexity of cane spirit on offer from Haiti.
On the palate, expect delightful flavours of luscious sugarcane, succulent grilled pineapple, nuanced tobacco, and an array of aromatic spices.
