I'm new to cigars and this is my first padron and i have to say I'm very impressed! I have been experimenting with my humidor and if you really want to enjoy this cigar it seems to like a high humidity as mine is reading around 70% and has been in there for about a week. From the start there was no crunch in the cut and a nice tight wrap and on lighting is a nice draw with a thick grey smoke with a spicy peppery kick then settled down to a smooth chocolate and coffee flavor with a hint of oak in the background the ash is tight and stacks up nicley, later on towards the end i got a hint of vanilla and marzipan which is really nice as made you feel like you have had your main meal and your now having your dessert! In all it lasted me around 45 minutes and would say it is a good all rounder and very good value for money will definitely be buying some of these again for my humidor.

If I have a "go to" cigar this is the one.I can’t speak highly enough of it.Rustic looking and not the prettiest thing you'll ever see,for sure, but that's an irrelavancy here.Always expertly constructed and always very, very flavourful. As has already been said,it does have a very loose draw so you must baby it somewhat but you're well rewarded. Spicy pepper in the opening which settles in to chocolate, coffee,an occasional note of things like cinnamon and even a caramel creaminess in there sometimes. The absolute definition of a satisfying smoke that you can just kick back with and relax after a hard day’s work and the one cigar that I make sure to never run low on. It'll be something that the Cuban "snobs" would have me up for as a heretic but,to my tastes at least,Nicaraguan tobacco and the best of their cigars (the puros) has caught up to a lot of what's coming out of Cuba just now and in some cases even surpassed it!! The range of QC amongst Cuban cigars is still far too large. You really do need to have a good relationship with a quality merchant or you risk getting a box of real rubbish! On the other hand,I know that I could buy a box of Padron from almost anywhere and be confident of the quality within the box. That being said it's still wise practice to develop that same relationship with a trusted retailer no matter what. But The Padron 2000 is 99 times out of a hundred absolutely spot on.The 1926 series is out of this world but that's another review.

Not a big fan of New World cigars however this one is lovely, a real 'desert' cigar with lots of dark chocolate and sweet spice. Always a very light and airy draw so helps to take it easy so as not to overheat it. Looks a bit rough to the eye but never judge a cigar by its wrapper, very consistent, will have a few of these in the humidor when I fancy something a bit sweeter.

cigar looked very rough, very toothy and veiny. The foot was loosely packed with stem like parts poking out. When I cut the cap it produced lots of dust and chunks that kept getting in my mouth right through the smoking. The draw was very loose. Very high smoke production which smelled lovely. Started off peppery with no other real flavours, after a few draws it became apparent that there was an very loosely packed bit running right through the center of the cigar. A little sweetness and coffee did show up for a couple of draws but was overshadowed by hot bitter taste. Tried to smoke as slow as possible but I guess the build quality totally ruined any flavours I might have got. Hopefully I just got a bad one but I won't be buying another to find out. Burn was all over the place. I thought Padron were meant to be a higher end non Cuban but it looked more on par with a Jose l Piedra.

This is an excellent cigar. Medium to full bodied. Sweet tobacco aroma. Rich flavours of dark chocolate and espresso coffee. Easy draw. In a nutshell, everything I want in a cigar. I know this will be controversial to many, but personally I prefer these over any Cuban I've tried. Try them for yourself and make up your own mind. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
