My, it shows how tastes and opinions can vary. I tried one of these after reading reviews here and elsewhere, including in many supposedly learned journals highly commending them. The result? In my opinion a dull, monotonous smoke dominated by too much spice and lacking any balance, or nuance in flavour. Hugely disappointed.

One of the best cigars ive smoked so far, absolutely loved the creamy taste and the construction of cigar was superb. A burn was a bit uneven at times, but overall a great smoke.

This really was a cigar of 3 parts. Part 1 on first light I was pleasantly surprised by a strong blast of smooth creamy vanilla with undertones of dark coca. After 45mins again I was surprised amas the coca transformed into dry wood and walnut as the cigar came alive with a tangy character. And the final 3rd returned to a smooth dry wood and absent of the creamy taste. A good smoke for a wet wintery English Christmas. Ill definately try more serie V. 1 hour 25min burn time to top of the band

Slightly harsh at the first light and through the first quarter. Construction looked spot on however it burned unevenly and kept going out, there were some obvious flaws internally with gaps. Predominantly leathery notes throughout not unpleasant but missing the dried fruit cocoa profile mentioned in other reviews. Seems I may have been unlucky and probably would explore other sticks from the brand. Didnt have that, give me more not wanting it to end feeling that I get from say a Alec Bradley Lineage or Nico puro. Not bad but for the money Id probably go for one of the above or asylum robusto which for me are a much more complex and interesting smoke.

lit fairly evenly and stayed alight. A rough taste with the first draw and then a relatively smooth smoke thereafter. Unusually, i paired this with a fruity rose wine and it wasnt unpleasant. Would definitely buy again, and reasonably priced.

As always, excellent service was provided over the counter. I asked for something Nicaraguan and full bodied; this cigar more than delivered! Flawless construction with a tight cap, almost invisible seem and a beautiful Bournville-esque wrapper. Pre-light draw gave cedar and Woody spices. These notes defined the first inch and were a pleasant introduction. The next three inches: wow! Cedar, spice, plum pudding, dark chocolate and a pleasant acidity to cut through the richer and sweeter notes. Pepper grew as it approached the end, but it remained rich and satisfying, even as the smoke got too hot to handle. Will definitely be looking to purchase a few more of these and try the other vitolas in Serie V.
