OLIVA

The Oliva Cigar story began in the late 1800s, when Melanio Oliva started growing cigar tobacco in Cuba. His heirs carried on the family tradition in the fields, but it was his grandson Gilberto Oliva Sr. who began making cigars.

Nicaraguan tobacco helped Oliva survive. The cigar that brought it to the attention of connoisseurs debuted in 2006: Oliva Serie V. Made by a small group of rollers and blended for strength and style, the Serie V line was an immediate hit. In 2012, to pay tribute to the first man in the family to grow cigar tobacco, Oliva added the Melanio version, which is distinguished from the original by its Sumatra-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador. The No. 1 Cigar of the Year 2014, Oliva Serie V Melanio Figuarado has rich, big notes of leather framed by a range of coffee, caramel and woody intonations. It’s a classic smoke.

SERIE G

Serie G is a medium body blend made with authentic African-Cameroon wrapper. The unique flavour notes of this wrapper are complemented by the natural richness of Nicaraguan fillers.

Tasting Notes

The Serie G is a cigar with notes of cedar and coffee. It is an excellent balance of smoke and flavour.

What a cigar I would defiantly buy again. I think It is up there with the Rocky patel tin of five although the Rocky is more expensive this is a great smoke I personally give it and the rocky six stars of I could even though I prefer the Rocky as they are my favourite stick ..

I have become an Oliva fan when it comes to new-world cigars and when I went looking for a cheap but a good hand made cigar, seeing these seemed the one to fit the bill. Been in the humidor for almost three days I thought to sample my first one, well sadly not the best. Quite dry which I hope is due to not being in the humidor for very long, but taste was similiar to other Oliva cinnamon with coffee notes I picked up on but really was too dry on the mouth to really appreciate the flavors I like so much from Oliva. I will re-review if the I believe 3 stars is too harsh, so fingers crossed.

I was looking for a cheap every day smoke. I found these a tad dry and hot when smoked direct from the tin. I put the remainder in my humidor for a couple of weeks and they are now the best inexpensive cigar I have found. (At £3.20 a pop you cannot lose). They are a very pleasant smoke once they have been left in the humidor and not too bad direct from the tin. Excellent value.
