Oliva Serie V Belicoso Cigar - 1 Single

Good looking cigar, the wrapper had notes of mint for me and after cutting it was easy to light. It had been in my Boveda for almost a year. It held it's shape extremely well and the first drop of ash didn't depart until an impressive (almost) two inches was present. An easy and consistent draw, I did have to re-light a few times but this was more during the last 2/3rds and I am a very mellow smoker so perhaps more likely to need re-lighting. The flavour was pretty consistent throughout the first 2/3rds...a touch of dark chocolate, a slight earthiness, light toasted almond overtones and just the slightest hint of spice/pepperiness. The last 3rd had a somewhat savoury undertone and wasn't as pleasant as the first 2/3rds. I enjoyed this with freshly brewed white coffee laced with a cheeky shot of Canadian Club whisky. A pleasant cigar offering c60+ minutes of pleasure for a very mellow smoker. Not sure if I would purchase again but certainly worth a try if you're branching out into New World cigars or switching up from mild to medium strength smokes.

Off the bat these are quite strong however the flavours are very nice. A full bodied rich earth, chocolate and coffee flavour which is not for a novice smoker. I put a few of these away in 2020 and came back to them this year and they had definitely mellowed. If like me you like a full flavoured but medium strength cigar I would buy a box and put them away for 3 years (out of the cellophane). Patients is required however you would be richly rewarded.

What a lovely smoke. a 45 minute well spent. I have other Olivas but I think this is my favourite. Very snotty with a lot of smoke as the tastes were amazing . 5 out of 5!

Ive been smoking cigars for about a year, developing a knowledge of what I like and this stick has revolutionised everything. A great chocolate cream heavy flavour without being flavoured has really changed my outlook. Absolutely incredible!

Hmmmm, really wanted to love this cigar having read all the rave reviews — but it just didnt live up to the hype for me. Flawless construction, but the draw was just a little too tight for my liking, meaning not enough smoke to fill my mouth and get any real enjoyment.

My favorite smoke of all time...a decent 30-40 minute smoke with a smooth and rich flavour.. A sweet smoke with plenty of spice throughout.. A beautiful oily wrapper, lovely vitola is this one!! 100% reccomend. Got to be unlucky not to enjoy this one!
