An Olifant cigar is a top quality cigar produced in the tradition of the old master craftsmen, produced in nine different cigar models that offer the smoker a complete range of smoking pleasure – for short or extended enjoyment, from a mild to a strong smoking experience.

These cigars are produced in the historic cigar factory in Kampen. They use tobacco from several harvest years in their filler to maintain a constant and pleasant taste. The wrappers are from Sumatra which have a thin, silky structure but are full of flavour with a hint of herbal aroma.

De Olifant still use traditional machines in their cigar making process with their oldest machine dating back to 1888.

Tasting Notes

The Robusto Valentino is De Olifants first long filler cigar, with notes of sweet caramel and balanced with hints of pepper.

For a cheap regular smoke these are nice, about 30 minutes in length and pleasant, nothing amazing but an easy evening smoke. They are stated as robusto but in the description is does state 38 gauge-3&1/2inch, and lets be fair what are the chances of getting ten robustos for £45.00.

Not hugely complex, strong tobacco and earth tastes. Adequate for a thirty-minute dog walk. The major disappointment for me (and I really ought to have known better) is that I expected to smoke robusto-sized cigars. These most certainly are not 50 ring-guage by 5 inches in length. They are under 4 inches and have a ring-guage not too dissimilar to the round Villiger Exports (which, to my unsophisticated palette, are preferable). Please CGARS, describe these as what they are: Petite Coronas (and that's being generous). I know men are supposed to exaggerate when it comes to size, but this was ridiculous...
