A lovely little cigar. Nit too strong but full of flavour. Burn was a little off to begin but fine after and inch with a touch up. Goes extremely well with a strong black Americano or espresso.

My previous review of the Petit Edmundo was severe! That sensation of trying to draw on a stub of tarry rope was durable. Yet my esteemed follow of Kicas (Kingsbarns Cigar Appreciation Society) was unfazed, he remains a dogged devotee of the Pet Ed. So, thinks I, either Johnny boy has no tastebuds - possible, in view of his unstinting persuit of Italian waitresses, preferably tattooed, preferably named Magda, or the Pet Eds reviewed were simply a bad batch. Johnnys oddities apart, we found ourselves in Davidoffs around midnight in Monte Carlo the other evening, perusing the humidor stock. (If you were thinking of robbing the place, I wouldnt: the night staff look quite ready to repel boarders.) Thats not a public school joke. Nor a reference to Russians. To cut it short, J. chose a Pet Ed. in that relentless way of his, which I ended up smoking for him (to repay him for smoking MY R&J Short Churchill), on practically the same Monaco balcony as the last time. The main difference was that this Pet Ed. was a very fine smoke, with none of the harshness, draw issues, or burn problems reported previously. It wasnt five star, but it was a 3+. I will try another soon. Which supports Aristotles remark that a single observation proves nothing. Jenny Agutter, I still love you!

Like James mentioned these can burn unevenly, flavours for my palate came through in the first third as peppery, slight leather note and bitter chocolate, second third sweet creaminess, also found the final third to be quite hot but left longer between singular puffs could still be enjoyed however started to unevenly burn and gave up just after removing the band.

These were the first Cuban cigars I tried, picking up a box in duty free, and it didn't take long to get through them. I've tried many others, but these are still my go-to smoke for most occasions. That being said I'm reluctant to share them with most guests who don't smoke cigars regularly, it feels a waste!

Apologies for autocorrect! I meant to write Pet Ed and absolve Cgars.
