Montecristo is the best known and probably most appreciated brand of Habanos throughout the world. It forms the benchmark for many Habanos smokers against which other brands are judged.

The name comes from the hero of Alexandre Dumas' famous novel 'The Count of Montecristo,' which was a firm favourite when read by the Lector to the Torcedores (cigar makers) at the factory where it was founded in 1935.

The original Montecristo range of sizes was composed of a narrow assortment numbered from 1 to 5. Today it consists of a wide variety of vitolas to cover every level of the cigar enthusiast's needs.

Montecristo's perfectly balanced blends are created exclusively with selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone, home of the finest tobaccos in the world.

Tasting Notes

A timeless classic from Montecristo, this cigar delivers a burst of crackling spices and garden herbs and is a true after supper companion. Medium to full flavour mellowed by the heavy ring gauge.

These were the first Cuban cigars I tried, picking up a box in duty free, and it didn't take long to get through them. I've tried many others, but these are still my go-to smoke for most occasions. That being said I'm reluctant to share them with most guests who don't smoke cigars regularly, it feels a waste!

Apologies for autocorrect! I meant to write Pet Ed and absolve Cgars.

Smoked my first Pet We last evening. My companion smoke another. Both cigars burned very unevenly and became uncomfortably hot in the second half. I found the flavour quite aggressive. In short I did not enjoy it at all. Very overrated. They did not come from Cigars, so no blame to those folks.

I opened a new box of Montecristo Petit Edmundo from 2013 and I just loved the beautiful oily wrapper and the look of the old band. A lot of people don’t like the old band because they feel that it looks ‘’cheap’’ but I love it because is a simple design. Many cigar companies focus more on the decoration of their bands and boxes than on the quality of their cigars. Some of the best cigars I ever smoked used simple bands and come inside simple boxes. The cigar begins quite earthy as usual with a Montecristo, fresh herb notes and very smooth. The flavour developed into a woody and black pepper taste but with a sweet smoke at the same time. The cigar finishes with a full bodied strength, very rich earthy and herb taste with the classic Montecristo pepper notes. This is a great sized cigar for 35-40 minutes smoke, which I found smother in comparison with other Montecristo sizes. Perfect with an espresso or a dram of C.gars Cigar Malt after lunch. David. Petit edmundo ..what a lovely smoke, for me personally it was light to medium in flavour but it had a bit of class about it, quite an elegant smoke.the one I had was a little under filled but I won't hold that against it.it burned maybe a bit quicker because of that yet the flavour was lovely.spicey peppery with caramel and milk chocolate.i have strong black coffee with all my cigars I smoke.being an ex chef, what brings flavour out is heat.hot strong coffee for me really accents and brings out the flavours in a cigar.leaves a lovely taste on the lips and as with most cigars for me the flavours and taste hang around for many hours after.so I can really enjoy the whole smoking experience which is more than just the duration of the cigar.id happily have more petit edmundos But first im going to try its big brother the edmundo.stick half a dozen or a box of these in your humidor you won't go far wrong.perfect smoke either in the morning or early afternoon . seriously lovely.
