MONTECRISTO

Montecristo is the best known and probably the most appreciated brand of Havanas throughout the world. It forms the benchmark for many Havana smokers against which other brands are judged.

The name comes from Alexandre Dumas’ famous novel ‘The Count of Montecristo’, which was a firm favourite when read to the Torcedores (cigar rollers) at the factory where it was founded in 1935.

The original Montecristo range of sizes was composed of a narrow assortment numbered from 1 to 5. Today it consists of a wide variety of vitolas to cover every level of the cigar enthusiast’s needs.

Whether it is within the classic medium-to-full line, the lighter Open Series or the newer, more powerful, Linea 1935, Montecristo’s perfectly balanced blends are all created exclusively with selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone, home of the finest tobaccos in the world.

EDMUNDO

Named after Alexandre Dumas' hero Edmundo Dantes in 'The Count of Montecristo' the Edmundo was one of the first extra heavy gauge, parejo sizes produced in Cuba in the 21st Century - Big and rewarding!

-This sampler contains...

1 x Montecristo Edmundo Cigar - 1 Single (52 x 5 1/3")

Tasting Notes

93 / 100

"A beautifully made cigar with a triple cap and gleaming, oily cover leaf. The burn and draw are both superb, delivering a rich, nutty character with tasty accents of graham cracker, baking spices, cedar and raisin..."

This is a cigar I thought would need a few years maturing before smoking, as it is new. To my suprise the one I smoked was smooth, tasty and had a wonderfull earthy more-ish flavour. Not at all harsh. I very much enjoyed it and hope to get some more of these soon. written by Jon

...to make an objective judgement. However, it has several potential attributes, such as good draw and construction, solid ash and even burn. The flavour is definately there, but the humidor must be allowed to do its thing... written by rubyz

The Cubans must at last be using draw machines when making these as the draw was almost too easy !! A little young as you might expect from a new cigar and not quite as powerful as I expected, but never the less a most enjoyable cigar.I cannot give it quite the top mark but I will smoke some now and put the rest down and review again in six months or so. written by ASHLEY
