As someone still new to cigars, the Mitchellero Peru Robusto has been a real eye-opener for me. It’s described as an approachable, well-priced smoke, and I can see why it’s a favorite among beginners and more seasoned smokers alike. On the cold draw, I got hints of earth and a touch of cedar, nothing too heavy or intimidating. Once lit, it opened up with a very smooth profile—creamy at times, with light coffee and nutty notes. There’s a bit of pepper, but it doesn’t dominate; it just adds a little tingle that keeps things interesting. The construction was surprisingly solid for the price point—the draw was consistent, and the ash held on longer than I expected. By the halfway point, I noticed some leathery notes and a mild sweetness that reminded me of dried fruit, though very subtle. It’s not overly complex, but it doesn’t need to be; it’s just a straightforward, reliable cigar that delivers plenty of flavor without overwhelming a newcomer. I’d happily recommend this to anyone starting out or looking for an easy daily smoke. For me, this one feels like great value and enjoyable balance.

First time I had one of these was very early into my cigar days and it wasn't for me. I wasn't used to the peppery notes.
Just came back to this one. Whole other story.
I really enjoyed this one. The peppery notes I really enjoyed this time. Unlike some mild cigars I struggle to taste anything.
The construction was impeccable. Burned really nice, didn't need any touch ups and generated the longest ash I've ever had.
If I remember right, I think Mitchell said that the Mitchellero range is rolled by Plasencia... and you can tell :)

Review: 1st cigar ever smoked
Smell - initial smell was hay, not many other smells beyond this
Dry draw - mainly a hay with a slight sweetness
Initial draw felt tight so I toasted it a bit more and this turned out to be pretty good
1/3 - this tasted quite mild with a woody / hay taste on the main palette, there was a slight dark chocolate undertone at the bag of the mouth - through the nose was coffee
2/3 - dark chocolate and coffee was the main flavour on the palette this intensified on the retro - my favourite taste throughout the cigar
3/3 - gave way to a dark chocolate and spice. Dark chocolate and coffee on the main palette and red pepper spice at the front of the palette. Spice on the lips on the inhale
Smoke time - this is stated as 30 minutes but I got close to 1 hour out of it.
Afterthought - a lot of hay once the cigar had finished. Would work well with a coffee in the morning.
Since this is the first time smoking this cigar, and due to experience I’ll give it a 4 for my first initial smoke. 39 left so plenty more to smoke.
I would recommend this to others

New smoker here. Very easy on my uneducated palate. Punched rather than cut to hopefully avoid any unravelling but still had an issue at the cap end.
Still an enjoyable way to spend an hour and a decent everyday price

I bought two - unfortunately the wrapper cracked on both which made them difficult to smoke, particularly towards the end. Otherwise they were enjoyable and flavoursome.
